750ml Bottle: Got in trade from stumpyiliz; THANKS Aaron! Aroma of malt, hops, citrus, oranges, fruit, a hint of honey, and a hint of chili. Poured orange in color with a large, loose, rocky, foamy, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Very hazy. Sparkling. Full of tiny-sized particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of malt, hops, citrus, orange, grain, and a hint of resin. Medium body. Sticky, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, citrus, orange, hop finish is dry. 9.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

750 mL bottle. Pours lightly hazy and sparkling copper with a huge, fluffy white head, long retention with fair lacing. Aroma is earthy, herbal, and spicy hops, straw, meal, and biscuit malts, faint pepper and honey notes with light fruity esters. Flavor is spicy peppers, medium hops and bitterness, light alcohol, oak, fairly significant malt backbone and a dry, spicy finish. Full body, medium to high warmth, moderate carbonation.

750ml corked and caged bottle served in a Tank 7 tulip. Bottle conditioned. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a big white head. Citrus hops and a little oak in the aroma. Lots of carbonation. Fair amount of hop bitterness. Lighter side of medium bodied. Dry finish. I didn’t pick up a lot of the ingredients. Wheat and hops come through the most. Wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this again.

This on the surface seems like a really complex beer. Golden pour with a large yet quickly disappearing head. Strongest notes are pear, honey, and oak. Fairly unique. A bit sweeter than I expected. Overall a decent beer, extra points for uniqueness. A beer I’d consider purchasing again, though the price tag is a bit hefty.

Pour out of bottle at the brewery, hazy orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of slight biscuit, some citrus and fruit notes with a hint of esters, some slight honey and a hint of oak. Messy. Taste is decent but nondescript, some slight biscuit, bready notes, touch of sweet honey, esters in there, touch of oak and a slight hint of chili, very misplaced. Overall a messy beer but nothing really wrong with it.

Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is citrus hop, dry fruity and light hop. Flavor is citrus sweet, floral with some bitter hoppy notes.

750 ml bottle at a local high-class restauraunt-pours lightly hazy orane with a small fizzy white head. nose is wack-herbal hops, honey, vanilla, oak, light pepper. flavors of honey, lite hops, lite alcohol lite vanalla and lots of honey sweetness. THe finish has quite a bit of heat-i dont know about hte people saying this is easy drinking. It took me quite a while to finish this 750-definately felt/tasted the alcohol. THe finish is very intereesting-lots of wierd things going on. The cool thing about this beer, you can pretty much pick up all the given ingrediants in this brew in the flavors. Well done by Odell once again.

draft. muddy / cloudy orange. sweet honey and bitter hop oil throughout. highly bitter and highly sweet. tastes like bitters and corn syrup mixed with orange juice. think toothpaste and orange juice. ugh.

theisti (4156) - Kansas, USA - APR 9, 2012
12 oz draft pour at the Martin City Brewing Company in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is haze golden yellow with a smallish white head. Nice lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is light floral hop, natural honey sweetness along with some toasted malt. A touch of vegetal green pepper is present as well. The taste is sweet fruity malt, apricot and honey, turning to a bright hop spice, an almost fruit stripe gum character. The wood barrel shows itself in the lingering finish. The alcohol heat also makes an appearance at that point, though its decently integrated with the texture of the beer. The palate is medium to heavier bodied, lower carbonation level, and a thicker finish. Certainly a unique beer, nice one.

This is a tough beer to rate against a style, so my assessment is purely based on general enjoyment. Poured a beautiful straw color with a huge white head. Great carbonation. Aroma is subtle. Would have expected more honey notes in the nose. Picking up a little floral hop aroma. Alcohol is present both in nose and palate. Palate is sweet, yet very sessionable. Honey shows through here, which isn’t easy to brew. Great mouthfeel....doesn’t linger. Would definitely drink this beer again!
