This on the surface seems like a really complex beer. Golden pour with a large yet quickly disappearing head. Strongest notes are pear, honey, and oak. Fairly unique. A bit sweeter than I expected. Overall a decent beer, extra points for uniqueness. A beer I’d consider purchasing again, though the price tag is a bit hefty. Tonkun (1296) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 9, 2014
Tap. Light amber pour with a finger of head. Malt, herb, citrus. Big body. Sweet throughout. Syrup like finish. commonshawn (1259) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 24, 2014
Big bottle. Hazy orange with white head. Smells of honey. Yeasty grainy with honey sweetness. Some hopppiness, tastes like a double ipa . The body is solid, well balanced. Very good beer, leaves a memorable footprint. Concealer (1247) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 15, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2014 Bomber. Cloudy gold with a frothy off white head that laces and lasts on the sides. Aromas of citrus, wheat, spice, yeast and pear. Flavor is sweet citrus upfront, light pear notes, wheat, spice, toasted malt, and vanilla. Medium bodied, bitter end but a lingering citrus. commonmac (1246) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 24, 2014
Big bottle purchased at Elevated. Appearance is very nice. Copper and healthy head. In the vein of a double IPA. Taste is a little malty and a hint of bitterness. Really enjoyable beer and one you don’t get to see all that often. Recommended.

The pour is a hazy, honey, golden color with a full, fluffy, white, head which settles to a thin, rocky layer and leaves soapy lace. The nose is grapefruit peel, mango, some resins, white pepper, slight toasty vanilla, and some rosemary. The flavor is similar with mango notes, light vanilla, spicy resins, grapefruit peel later in the progression, some leafy notes, and dry oak notes into the finish. The palate is lively, medium, drying slightly, warming, and velvety. The finish has dry oak, white grapefruit peel, white pepper, leafy notes, and a basil note?? Usually beers with so many adjuncts and multiple aging techniques do not result in a pleasant beer to drink, but this one was just that. All of the unique ingredients were complementary and supplemental rather the dominant or overbearing; the green chiles added minimal spice and heat, the prickly pear added nice fruit notes, and the honey added mild sweetness and dryness. I have seen references to a BGSA in other ratings and I can see the similarities but there are too many hop notes to make that a true story. A very pleasant beer to drink and a somewhat unique beer. Nice from Odell. beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - MAR 1, 2012
Bottle. Pours a golden yellow color with a white head. Aroma is of pear, peach, sweet malt, grassy and citrussy hops, green apple and subtle wheat. The flavor has a lot of pear, with some of the citrussy and peach, subtle oak on the back end, green apple, white grape, subtle sweet malt, honey and wheat. The body is light to medium with a dry mouth feel. Overall a pretty interesting brew and the concept is quite cool. bellco33 (819) - Willington, Connecticut, USA - DEC 31, 2013
Poured from bottle into tulip: pours clear golden with a thin head. Aroma is boozy, sweet, and a little funky. Taste has a lot going on. A little sweet, boozy, nutty, and a little bitter. Slightly astringent, medium body. Not bad. MikeJslc (778) - USA - OCT 27, 2012
Gold, slight haze, thin white head. Aroma of pilsner malt, some spicy wheat, a lot of interesting elements from the various special ingredients. A marmalade-like sweetness, maybe some lime, slight chili character, honey evident. Interesting.

Clear honey, copper color with small off-white head. Aroma of honey, caramel, orange, pine, and damp hay. Tastes like honey with a touch of bitterness and twang. It’s warm and just a little spicy, can detect the oak woodiness. It’s just a little bit syrupy with adequate but fairly soft carbonation. On the sweeter side, definitely, but well tempered. It’s unique for sure. Complex and probably a bit beyond description. It’s sweet, slightly bitter and a little metallic/ astringent. I really like it. It’s unlike any brew I’ve had.
