COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We know. It sounds a little out there but just wait until you try this tomatillo sour. Our very own tap room coworker Lil’ Mike, came up with the idea, presented in a meeting and was able to brew and see this beer to the taps! One will get notes of lemon, perfect pricker on the tongue and a slight salt finish. Cheers!

Slightly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a large white head that fades incredibly fast to absolutely nothing on top. Aroma of sour funk, some dry malts, a touch of light candy sugars and a dose of mellow guava, passionfruit and a dose of pears and apples. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and very herbal flavour with a light soured and dry flavour of pears, apples and pineapple are all noticable, but a mellow malt and wheatie kick near the end make this relatively approachable for lovers of any style. Aftertaste shows mostly a dry and lightly soured beer with a touch of fruits (mostly apples and pears) with a bigger dose of wheat and coriander seed and a touch of soured funk from the yeast on the tail end. Overall, a relatively nice and soured beer with a moderate complexity, but not too much in terms of depth or pungency and unfortunately, definitely not worth the high purchase price. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska on 01-October-2017 for US$5,49! sampled at home in Washington a few hours after returning from Omaha again on 09-February-2018.

Unique and very sour, wasn't sure what to expect. Decent Berliner. Decent drinkability. Worth a try for fans of the style. Thanks Jason B.

Bottle. A- Stewed peppers, vegetal, slightly sour, salt water. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Stewed peppers, salty, sour, tart, citrus. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, tart finish. O- A unique idea no doubt. It's a valiant effort that works but doesn't wow. There is no question this is a Berliner with the amount of tartness and salt content. The tomatillos add a unique touch as I said, but it's nothing remarkable.

Aroma is slightly odd sweetness/tomatillos and fruit. The flavor is fruit, slight vegetables, malts and mix of strong tartness and mild spiciness in the finish.

12 oz bottle from Mile High. This is a clear yellow beer with a very small, fizzy head. Aroma is sharp and sour with notes of lemon and crackers. Not much else going on. The palate is light and spritzy with a decent sour kick with each sip. The tomatillos start to come out a little bit in the flavor and it makes a lot of sense with this acidity. It's a simple kettle sour without any huge flavor going in one way or the other, but it's clean and refreshing.

Pours an ambery yellow from a bottle. Lemon aroma, tart lemon taste with a bit of a wheaty grassy aftertaste, burp is tomatillo a little. Okay beer.
