Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle.
Pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is some fruit as well as caramel malt and some hops. The flavor is very hoppy with some dark fruit and caramel malt. There is just enough malt presence to call this a hoppy barleywine as opposed to a DIPA. The alcohol is slightly warming. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 8, 2010
Coudy reddish/amber pour. Frothy off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, caramel, citrus. Flavor is spicy and sweet. Malty and nbutler says it tastes really good!! BMan1113VR (7929) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 5, 2010
Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a small, off-white head with a murky, particle filled orange body. Aroma of honey and strong herbal and citrus hops. Taste is caramel, alcohol and a ton of hops. This reminds me a bit of what DR6 tasted like fresh. Creamy carbonation. Nice hoppy American Barley Wine. Bottle courtesy of thirdeye11. Clear golden color with bits of sediment on the pour. Lots of hops on the nose. Strange for the style but nice and cologney. Bitter flavor but sweet flavors peek through. Smooth flavor with a touch of spice. Crazy good. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - FEB 28, 2010
Bottle from thirdeye11. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Citrus hop aroma with sweet spice. Strangely hoppy, lots of brown sugar, some spices, maybe cinnamon, and orange. This is a pretty good... barley wine? No way.

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this 750ml. Pours a hazy orange body with floaties! Little head, but sticky on the sides. Aromas of oranges, candy sugars and light floral hops. Flavor is lightly sweet, fruity, hoppy and some citrus. Lively carbonation and a full mouthfeel. Alcohol completely hidden. More like a DIPA than barleywine. Enjoyable nonetheless. mar (5439) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 27, 2010
bottle thanks to thirdeye11. cloudy murky yellow with a cream head. umm hops, florals and more hops on the nose. decent on the palate, big sticky hops for the flavor and a light finish. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 26, 2010
(750ml bottle) Pours murky orange with bubbles on top. Nose of oranges, and citrus hops. Taste of grapefruit, orange oils, salty, and biscuit. Thick body that’s well carbonated. This was much more DIPA and very little barley wine but I still enjoyed it! arrogantb (1402) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 14, 2010
On-tap at the falling rock. orange-brown color and super piney, hoppy smell for a barleywine. the taste was more of the same hoppiness with a bitterness that was similar to a double IPA. i can see why this got its name but its nothing fantastic and there are other west coast barleywines that are a much better value such as Bigfoot, Green Flash and even our local Old Ruffian. At $16 who does odell think they are fooling with this beer? I’m honestly kind of disappointed with the direction Odell has taken with their pricing and its one of the reasons I never buy their one-offs and only occasionally buy a sixer of IPA or red ale..

Sampled at the 2010 Crescent Moon Extreme Beer Festival. Pours amber with a large off-white head. Fantastic aroma of cherries and butterscotch pie. I love the taste. This is very much barleywine but the body is just on the thin side. Has a good quinine like hop bitterness. The lower sweetness of the beer really frames this well.
