Post Borefts I Invasion of Fonefan and Charlottes room tasting! Cloudy amber beer. Nose of fresh hops. Softish palate. Rich hops, not too aggressive. Nice caramel malt base. Finishes with piney hops. Slightly dry. Easy drinking for it’s abv.

Papsoe (25060) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 22, 2010
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Plovmand. Pours an almost clear amber with a dense and frothy head leaving some lacework. Intense hop aroma, a little perfumy. Medium body, some caramel, a little ashes and and some intense and perfumy hops. I believe the massive IBUs are buried under quite some caramel malts. Solid though. 221110

harrisoni (19024) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2009
Bottle at post Borefts BF 09 tasting. Sweet oranges and big dry hopped hop on aroma. Huge resiny piney hop aroma. Body is ok, but kinda needs a bit more malt. Big acidic hop on end. Not particularly well balanced. Quite hot on finish.

750 c&c from Ace in Boulder, CO. Pours copper with a foamy 3 finger beige/off-white head. The hop aroma is huge. Mostly pine/resin with a little background grapefruit. Hard to be sure. There’s a lot of hop. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor starts with pine (maybe) but certainly seems to go to grapefruit, and then some roast malt creeps in. Got to be the hoppiest barley wine I’ve ever had. It would be right at home in the PNW.
