3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz Bottle. The pour was a cloudy orange with an average (1-2 finger) white frothy head that was mostly lasting, reducing to a thick frothy film and large collar with excellent sheeting of sticky lacing.
The aroma was of a grain malt, floral and citrus hops and a sweaty yeast with notes of caramel and citrus (grapefruit and orange peel).
The taste was moderately bitter with a light caramel sweetness pretty much throughout, progressing slightly with a nice grapefruit hop presence taking over along with a bitter citrus peel ending. The flavor lasted an average time proceeding the swallow with a light hoppy grapefruit taste left behind to linger a little longer.
Mouthfeel was light in body and dry in texture with a carbonation that was just beyond mild in intensity.
Overall I found this to be a very well balanced IPA, nice and hoppy with a tasty light sweetness and a not so overbearing bitterness...
355ml Can: Pours a slightly hazy golden with thin off-white head. Lacing. Caramel, citrus and bread crust and floral notes on the nose. Flavours include caramel, citrus and biscuit with floral notes from the hops. Bitterness is balanced nicely by the malt. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Overall a really good beer. Not quite sessionable but very tasty. bludog1462 (5) - - DEC 11, 2017 does not count

This one pours from 12oz bottle(best by 091907) a slightly hazy orange gold with a good sized head of foam that sticks around for the entire session as a solid layer with a ton of nice lacing.
The smell is....hoppy! I'm getting lots of pine...lots of pine!
The taste on first sip..is all kinds of hoppy. Big pine, big hop oil, some lemon zest, and there's even some caramel malt in the background to take just a touch off the bitterness but not too much.. Nice.
Further sips in and the hops just continue to dominate, as they should, though I'd have to say, the bitterness that they're imparting on my palate is tasty as hell and just makes me want to take another sip, and another, and another....and even though it's at a "healthy" 7%abv, no ways near being what one could call a sessionable ale, I think it's a heck of a good drinker. I take my(BA) hat off to Odell for this one.
Bottom line: A very good IPA from Odell that certainly won't disappoint when it comes to flavour. I recommend it!

Pours deep gold from the bottle. Frothy white head with some lacing. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, melon. Taste is bitter, quite dry, hints of an underlying, fruity sweetness. A very light warmth at the end. Body is medium, average carbonation. Overall pretty good, but nothing exceptional. aleksander9 (1927) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 4, 2017
