Dark pour with a lot of mocha colored head (pour carefully). Smells of fernet dominates, along with chocolate, malt, raisin, plum. A thick creamy mouthfeel with tastes of fernet with coffee, roasted malt, woodiness. Some alcohol bite. It's an interesting brew especially if you like fernet because that flavor comes through strong on top of the usual porter flavors and the barrel flavors. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma is somewhat herbal with hints of mint, and a wonderful "fresh" quality. Pours a thick opaque brown with a robust espresso toned head and ample lacing. The taste, surprisingly, follows the nose. Mint (amazing), herbs, attended by a pleasing bitterness in the finish. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, while not the traditional roasty pallet I normally expect from a porter, this was a verey pleasing deviation. I would drink this porter again. Well done Odell. (Acknowledgment to Ken for the bomber. Thanks)

At the Flanny’s Odell Tap Takeover, dark brown pour, nice tan head, minty chocolate and some nice spices on the nose and in the taste. Very enjoyable, I love mint chocolate.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2013 Tap @ brewery. Deep brown/black appearance with a big, fluffy, creamy, light brown head. Quite spicy, evergreen, ginger, herbal, fairly roasty, dark chocolate malty, light espresso aroma. Minty, a bit boozy, herbal, spruce, dark chocolate flavor. Kind of like a thin mint but somewhat boozy. Update: kind of fun.
