3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
4th September 2009
Hazy amber beer. Small cream coloured head. Semi soft palate, just a tad dry. Light creamy malt blends very well with well behaved and slightly citrus hop. A little more zingy than the 5 Barrel. Seduces with it subtlety and deftness.
Aroma is spices and malts/caramel malts. The flavor is citrus, fruit/berries, malts/earthy and a hoppy/bitter finish. ozzy70 (1283) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - NOV 16, 2016
12 oz. bottle. Poured light amber, lasting white head. Aroma was sweet floral, light hops, biscuit. Taste was mild sweet, spicy, grass, citrus. djd07 (15543) - Houston, Texas, USA - AUG 9, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange with medium off white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is caramel and resin. Medium body, earthy hop, caramel, light bitter finish, good. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - MAR 15, 2016
Looks deep gold. Barely amber. Has a faint sweerness like an amber but significant enough hop bitterness not to suck. Handsy11 (25) - IRELAND - FEB 6, 2016
Looks decent...nice amber colour with a silky head. Smells like a lager and taste is quite bland. Still refreshing though...

this has an interesting, fruity/citrus aroma and a more golden appearance than most amber ales. the taste is nice and fruity, hoppy without being overly bitter, and refreshing. i like this one pretty well. im not a huge pale ale person because lately it seems to be a contest to see how bitter a pale ale can be. but this one is just bitter enough. most hoppy beers are not that refreshing to me, but this one is. snoworsummer (6068) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - AUG 4, 2015
Draft at Jack Quinn’s. Pours clear bright copper with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like light fruit, very malty, toffee, dry toast, grassy. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like light fruit, toasted malt, grassy. ttoadee (1582) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 23, 2015
Notes from my recent Denver trip: Light amber pour, no head. Nose is vague grain. Bittersweet. Middle is more roasted grain. Finish is lightly sweet. OK. elbernays (1679) - Dublin, IRELAND - JUN 26, 2015
Bottle from McHughs. Pours opaque amber with white thin foam head. Fairly bread, molasses, maple syrup, a little metallic. Sweet doughy flavour with dry bark finish Shippy (43) - - MAY 31, 2015
UPDATED: SEP 30, 2015 Poured from a bottle. Golden brown with a thin white head. Sweet, caramel and brown sugar aromas. Sweet with apple flavor with some nuttiness. Medium body, but light tasting and refreshing.
