750 ml corked and caged bottle. Pours murky orange-brown with a thick deep-beige head with great retention; leaves some cobwebby lace. Aroma is bretty, doughy, yeasty, mineral-like. Taste starts out sweet before turning lightly tart and finishing with a dry bitterness. Flavor is strong in oak, with vanilla and artisan caramel candy flavors filling the mouth. Musty basement flavors are strong, too. An off-note of metal in the finish doesn’t bother me too much. This one really exceeded my expectations, given the reviews on here. It’s pretty yummy. dnstone (3719) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - DEC 26, 2009
The aroma is of walnuts and syrup. Reddish amber, murky apple cider-like color. Tastes as it smells, strong but not too intense with a tiny brett/sour finish. Intriguing and excellent.

Taster at Odell. Pours a deep red with an off white head. Oak nose with citrus. Med body - very smooth with a crisp citrus layer on top. Oak and vanilla soak the mouth with more lemon. Layered finish with more oak, vanilla and some light citrus Brett qualities. Beerdrinker79 (2188) - Idaho, USA - JUL 13, 2012
750 ml. bottle- Pours murky reddish brown with a nice creamy tan head and nice lacework. Aorma is wood, slight tart and funk, maybe some dark fruits, brown sugar. The taste is much more tart than the aroma, funky, raisins, cherries, odd beer, but very good and complex.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a clear deep copper with a huge and frothy off-white head leaving quite some lacework. Exploding cork! Amazing sophisticated and refined woody nose, very subtle. Rich body, surprisingly smooth, caramel, overripe fruit and a very subtle Brett character. Some warming alcohol. A very delicious brew. 250113 brucebruce81 (392) - GUAM - JUL 21, 2012
This beer is really good its smoothe and not very hoppy that goes along with the style ads135 (5215) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 4, 2012
This is a very nice beer that I was able to try during a tap take over at Dempseys pub in Lawrence, KS. Not as good as the sour Meddler that I tried the same night. This is much more mellow, with a sharper hop character and a lighter body. hellbilly (3306) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUN 3, 2012
4/5/12 shenanigans. bottle and tap at azwine.
Dark crimson ow head.
A is big barrel stink... To the point it stinks of medicine and cinnamon....bs, umami, rich overripe fruit, apples, red grape juice, yeasty, cherry.
F is the same...very well balanced... Brett is very mild and only in the bckground. dries out crazy on the finish. Oak shows in the form of umami.
Picks up some sourness as it sits.
Cant wait to see what it does with some time.
tap version is more tart but far less funky.
