Bottle. Cork pops with a lot of force. Pours a cloudy brown color with tan head. Red fruit and some spice to the nose. Good amount of sourness but not overpowering. Tart. Reminds me of a lighter flavored Rodenbach Grand Cru. Very good.
Bottle. It poured a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of caramel, sour dark fruits, wood, sour grains and cherry vinegar. Bottle in Austin. Pours a nice mohagony with a light head. Well carbonated. Aroma is leather, tobacco, funk and sour cherries. Taste is dark fruit, oak, toffee, red wine/tannins and balsalmico. As Oud Bruins go, The Meddler is downright pretty. It pours ruby red. The head is fizzy but lasts longer than what you see on a lot of Sours. Earthy/acidic aromatics with barnyard, old oak, aged fruit, and a little malt. Palate is lively with tartness and funkiness. Raspberry, cherry, and apple notes with vinous wood and tannins. Sample at Strong Ale Fest 2016. Comes reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma of fruit, malt, and caramel. Taste is tart fruit, malt, caramel, and barrel. Very nice.

Great balance of sour funky aged elements and complex yeasty brown malts. A big beer on the palate, with a lot going on: cherries, old stone fruit, raisins, barnyard and heat from the alcohol.
