COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Doug Odells admiration for the British brewing culture has led him across the pond - a lot. In 2008, Doug landed at Thornbridge Brewery and in the company of kindred brewing spirits. This visit led to a collaboration brew at Thornbridge in 2010. Fast forward to 2012 to find the two breweries at it again, this time at Odell Brewing. Pond Hopper Double Extra Pale Ale is the love child of this international brewmance. Brewed with English malts and American hops, Pond Hopper brings together the best ingredients each country has to offer, balancing a subtle sweet malt character with hints of mango and peach hop flavor. It pours a rich golden color with citrus and ripe melon essence in the nose. No matter which side of the pond youre on, heres to good beer and good friends. Cheers.

Purchased one of the last three bottles that were available in England on 17 Oct 2012. This was one of the best beers brewed. At 8.9%, this is crazy easy to drink and should be savoured for ever. Please brew this again. Drank with friends in BurySt Edmunds, England.

Bottle. Golden amber with an off white foam. Aromas are white grape (so often, recently) with melon, light grapefruit and hints of pineapple. Biscuit and oak with floral notes and candy sugar. Bready yeast with lemon and cream. Melon with low pine and grassy notes. Flavours are sweet sugar and lemon with bready yeast and pepper. White grape juice with lemon and sugar. Spicy on the finish. Good, even if a little familiar after some of the other brews Ive had recently.

Countbeer (6245) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 2, 2012
Bottle Medium somewhat airy but still vast and slow disappearing off white creamy head on top of a hazy orange colored beer. Smell sharper hay/plant and grassy hops, porridge, a light sourness, sweeter malts, peach, light hint of sharp plastic and some sharper floral notes. Taste is hoppy with creamy hop flowers and bitterness, grape fruit, exotic fruit and some typical peach and abricot, a nice malty backbone and a light sharper edge. Medium carbo, soft but lightly blown mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a creamy sticky texture. Its nice but somewhat stingy and thats not what i really like.

Tap at the Cask, Pimlico - 25/09/12. Slightly hazy orange with a thin off white head. Big tropical fruit nose, pine forward, caramel malts and a tones of gas. Taste follows with mango, sweet grapefruit, papaya at the fore allied to pine and hops. Full bodied with moderate carbonation leading to a bitter finish. Excellent fayre!

Pours a very hazy orange with a lasting, foamy white head. Aroma is strong hops and quite bitter. Taste is the same with very good hop flavors. No malts to taste but it is well balanced. Very nice DIPA

Half pint at cask pub and kitchen, london. Love the aroma of fruits and hops. Hazy golden color with small white head. Very tasty, fresh, fruits and hops. Balanced and very good imperial ipa. Also some sweetness on taste. This one is awesome.

75cl bottle shared with me, myself, and I. Pours hazy amber/gold with huge fluffy white head & plenty of lacing. Aroma is heavy on the tangerine, floral notes, light grapefruit & citrus, caramel malt sweetness, and slight interesting yeastiness. Taste is a great balance between incredibly juicy tangerine, mango, slight citrus and exotically perfumed floral notes alongside the subtle caramel malt backbone. Medium mouthfeel, perfect natural carbonation. Lingering tangerine aftertaste as well as a lovely hop zing. Lovely, but very pricey!

Bottle... Poured golden, pale yellow with a thick, fizzy white head. Earthy, mildly resinous hops on the nose. Drying yeast esters and other light fruits. Like tropical fruits, citrus, and a hint of honey sweetness with added bready malts for balance. Clean, and easy drinking with hardly any evidence of the higher abv.
