Shared by Boltz at RBWG. I have a numerical rating, but my notes are un-readable so I’m borrowing a bit with this one.
This one pours a murky crimson/chestnut color with a small eggshell head that left a bit of lacing. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, citrus, oak, and dark fruit. Flavor has notes of wood, vanilla, honey, buttermilk biscuit, plum, raisin, and bourbon. Just a touch of alcohol still noticeable. Holding up nicely! Cloudy amber-brown color; generous head. It has a very nice aroma from the vanilla oak, with malt too, beans, walnuts. Sweet flavor, malt and caramel, with the expected oak presence, and a light sourness; good bitterness level. A bit too much, but very good.
Bottle shared during AZRBWG courtesy of BOLTZ7555. Pour is deep hazy amber with a beige head. Aroma shows notes of caramel, butterscotch, oak, apple, pear, and light herbal notes. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of toasted coconut and vanilla. Seems to be holding up fairly well. fata2683 (2202) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAR 28, 2011
