Draft. Murky, nearly opaque pumpkin-orange. One finger of cotton-like head is very dense and light. Tangerine peel, green oak and touches of caramel and biscuits. More pronounced maltiness than the base beer, for sure, with a bit of vanilla to match. Vinous, oaky flavor. like dropping a fresh-cut branch in the fermenter. Some citrusy hops, but more of a raw, oaky sourness -- a splash of vinegar. This might be turning slightly sour. Big medium body with, mild massaging carbonation, bitterness is balanced by the malt but buttressed by harsh oak. A completely different beer.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of white fruit, tropical fruits into some sour citrus, oak, slight vanilla in there as well, touch of biscuit and bread but its pretty oak forward. Taste is big woody, oaky, vanilla notes into some lemon, orange, tart fruits, slight funky notes with more tropical fruit, pineapple, finishing fairly bitter, slightly tart. Decent. Hazy orange pour with a small white head. Citrusy and boozy aroma. Taste has some booze, grapefruit and a little malty finish. Pretty good. notalush (5867) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 26, 2013
Hmm, this is an odd one - itís not really recognizable as an IPA anymore - itís more like a sour ale - turbid gold - nose has loads of tropical fruit (pineapple, mango), but it is hard to attribute that character to hops at this point - the is also so oak, vanilla, and light sourness - flavor is lightly acidic and moderately sour - a lot of pineapple - mild, wild funkiness - the base beer comes through in the finish, where some hop bitterness finally comes through - different, but not in an entirely good way. On tap at Odell poured a hazy gold with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of oak, vanilla, citrus and light tropical fruit. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth withj a dry finish., Flavors of oak, vanilla, sour citrus and light earthiness with a smooth dry bitter lingering vanilla finish.

Hazy orange color. Notes of oak and grapefruit up front. The grapefruit pervades thru the middle. Funky finish reminiscent of bleu cheese. adnielsen (10605) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2012
Tap @ Odell. Pours a bit hazy, dark orange appearance with an off white head. Rich grainy oak, vanilla, somewhat tropical fruity flavor. Super rich, fresh oaky, woody, big vanilla, mango, pineapple flavor. Tasty but $7/half pint, you have to be kidding. This is a double IPA aged in Woodcut 6 barrels.
