Bottle. A rich brownish red colored brew with a thin light khaki head. The nose has some malty caramel along with some peach pancakes. This tastes like cheap brown pancake syrup on some pancakes. Notes of caramel and almonds come through in the long finish. The caramel gets stronger as you drink. I think that this could easily be called an ESB. The body is slick and thick at the same time. Actually, this is a nice drinker with just enough sweetness and hints of roast to keep it interesting, I dig it. jmohno (1661) - Iowa, USA - SEP 29, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2012 Dark red,short head,more than average carbonation.Clear.Nice looking.
Aroma is malty ,dark ,some mineral. Toasted Oatmeal cookie. Almost burnt toast, probably the dark carmel malt. Heavy toasty grainy. Strong toasted nutty cookie .Dusty.
Taste is pretty good, distinct grain maltiness(maybe german or english)with dark burnt carmel sweetness, some hoppiness but mildish. Nutty toasty.Fairly slick but smooth creamy with a fullish body. Not too hoppy it has bigger malt presence. Pretty good balance in taste with a nice conditioned or mildy complex taste. Smooth mellow mild peppery bittering finish that melts away. geologyguy (1661) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - SEP 11, 2012

Pours a deep dark red. Lots of caramel and a little candi sugar. A touch of nuttiness and a littl further down the sip you get some cocoa flavors. Candy sugar aroma. Finish is a touch of bitter hips. Decent. Suttree (6504) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 14, 2012
It’s red. More of a mahogany, actually. Yeah. Go with Mahogany, although "O’Dempsey’s Big Mahogany Ale" doesn’t roll off the tounge as well. So, it’s very malty, with a lot caramel and molasses. Flavor is caramel and molasses, as well, plus a slight hop bite at the end. . Kind of run the mill, but not bad or anything.

22oz bottle thanks to blutt59.
Reddish brown pour with some off-white head. Nose is sweet with caramel malt and some grassy hops. Flavors of herbs, burnt caramel, and cardboard. blipp (9691) - La Mesa, California, USA - JAN 15, 2012
Bottle. Pours amber orange with an off white head. Malty and fruity aroma with some light toasty notes. The flavor has lightly toasted malts and caramel sweetness, with fruity berry-like notes. Pretty good. BlackWarrior (220) - Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Pours cloudy reddish brown - gusher that slowly settled. Some paper and faint funkiness in the nose, but mostly malt, woodsy and sweet fruitiness. Highly carbonated - light to medium body w/ some good dryness in the finish. Flavors are sweet caramel and malt. Some spice like ginger and pepper. Pretty balanced. Not bad, but it doesn’t really come together for me. I didn’t notice much to suspect infection other than the gush. I tried the entire 4-pack and flavors were the same, it’s just OK to me.
