A winter-ish brown ale with spices: the hopback is already full of lime and orange zest, juniper berries, cardamom, and Amarillo and Citra hops and Paul is cutting fresh ginger!

Nice maltiness, caramel, bready, some toffee. Bit weird berry like kick, herbal kick. Moderate to light sweetness, light bitterness. Bit off balance, but decent.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a chalice. Slightly hazy deep amber, small frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, light lacing; aroma toasted malts, caramel, lemon peel, ginger, laos; taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, caramel, mild ginger, lemon; ginger more prominent in the middle part, malty sweetbitter finish with a lingering mild mixture of herbs and spices; medium body, oily texture, average carbonation; spices and herbs ever present but not that dominating as expected, nice.

Deep hazy amber colour with medium tan foam. Aromas of citrus like bitter orange peel and grapefruits with notes of light spices and maybe herbs but orange peel and hops dominate aromas. Palate, medium body with slick texture but thin too, leaving roasted malt finish. Taste, bittersweet of oranges, grapefruits and bitter citrus as well as with a touch of burned and roasted malts with a bready backbone. Overall, not bad good beer just expected to taste more of the herbal aspect of the beer but it has been overpowered by hops in my opinion giving it an IPA feel.

Fles geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een amberkleurig bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een kruidige smaak, met een hoppige nasmaak.

(Oedipus / Anchor Lekker Gezellig) Bottle 330ml at home from a trade with Borrenstein, thanks Rob! Served into a chalice, , ABV 6.5% Brown colour on the body, mostly clear, with a small and thin beige head on top, low retention. Aroma has caramel, toffee, the spices not as pronounced as I expected. Taste also of caramel, leaves, very faint juniper berries, toasted malts, light toffee. Thin body, low carbonation. Good, nothing I would seek again though.
