Seasonal beer Agriturismo A Belgian ale made in collaboration with Labietis with handpicked pine shoots, elderflower and lemon peel. And you can taste all of that. It’s fruity and flowery and green! BELGIAN ALE7%12IBU2017

For our Agriturismo we went back into nature to connect with the trees, ourselves and each other. We invited our Latvian friends from Labietis and together we ventured into the Dutch dunes to pick our fresh ingredients. We charged in the sun and got our hands dirty! We navigated a corn maze, slopped hogs, picked fruits, fed animals and enjoyed our trip in nature. At Labietis, they know what it’s like to celebrate the pagan lifestyle. They are known for their herby beers and are often out and about, crafting forgotten beer styles that are deeply rooted in authentic traditions. Agriturismo is the expression of our meeting. It’s a crispy beer with the smell of fresh herbs from the real outside. Handpicked by us, for you. We settled on pine shoots because it was the season and then we added elderflower and some classic lemon peel. And you can taste all of that. It’s fruity and flowery and green! Artist Matthijs Booij colored the label with his free interpretation of our nature trip as a leisurely Summer night, while also subtly encouraging nudity at all times. Thanks Matthijs.

suurjuust (3674) - ESTONIA - OCT 14, 2017
330ml bottle. Hazy yellow beer, big white head. Nose is estery, pine, citrus, yeast, but as the beer warms, everything gets covered by the pine. Flavor is slightly sweet and malty, estery, citrus. Finish is bitter with more pine. Aftertaste is sticky pine resin, pretty bitter. A strange experiment.

[email protected] Alehouse - very hazy pale orange beer; aroma of ripe oranges, banana, esters and spices; chewy, very sweet; medium-bodied, estery and long finish of ripe oranges and litchies; solid carbonation

Plovmand (8585) - Grindsted, DENMARK - OCT 4, 2017
Bottle provided by Borresteijn. It pours murky golden with a huge bubbly white head. Fresh lime and lemon grass in the nose. Light piney and sweet yeasty. Orange notes. The flavor is fresh spicy and malty with notes of lime and lemon grass. The elderflower gives a fresh soapy whiff to it. Not bad at all.

Alusmamuts (2094) - LATVIA - OCT 2, 2017
Yellow, bit hazy with rich white head. Nice yeast aroma with fresh citrus notes. Nice taste rich of fruity yeast and citrus notes, however pine notes, which are coming later, are too harsh and this harsh bitterness lasts in the aftertaste.

On tap at the brewery. Scent is gorgeous notes of flowers and herbs. Fuck yeah. Taste is lovely notes of dense herbs and sweet properties with a bit of stickiness and sweetness. If this was #1000 it would be my perfect 5. Gorgeous.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2017 330ml bottle (Labietis Central Market, Riga) (6-:3+:6:3-:12=3.0-)
Hazy pale orange, brief fizzy head. Sweet starchy aroma with some light floral aspects, a bit fruity. Slightly fizzy palate. Sweetish spruce tip taste, again starchy. Too sweet and sappy. Finish sprucy and sweet. Kind of an additive-heavy mess, even though not intrinsically bad. Definitely more restraint needed; some balance would definitely be an improvement. Did cover the alcohol, though.

Svesse (8731) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 6, 2017
(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 25 July 2017) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, floral nose with notes of peaches, elderflower, honey and lemon. Fruity, floral taste with honey, peaches, elderflower, pine needles and a sweetish finish with a gentle bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite interesting. Quite enjoyable.

Vells (1894) - Rīga, LATVIA - SEP 6, 2017
Nice Belgian with twist of herbs, some fruitiness, citrus, noticeable yeastiness. Moderate sweetness with light bitterness. Nothing too fancy, but interesting and enjoyable.

Zlotta (3728) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - AUG 29, 2017
0.33 l bottle from ’Het Biermoment’, bottled in June 2017. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, floral, quite fruity, slightly grassy and a little herbal aroma of lemon peel, pineapple, hay, elderflower and maybe some pine. Intense, moderately sweet, slightly bitter, fruity-grassy, floral and quite herbal taste of lemon peel, pineapple, honey, elderflower, hay and a touch of pine, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly grassy and rather herbal finish with the pine shoots coming to the foreground. Medium body, very smooth but rather effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very interesting stuff, didn’t know what to expect, works out very well in the end. The herbs are not too prominent and the refreshing character of the beer is not spoiled at all.

Rune (13355) - Tromsø, NORWAY - AUG 23, 2017
Draught at Bryggerifestivalen 2017. A white tophead over a cloudy golden body. Floral nose with citric hints, dry. Sweet Belgian fruity flavours balanced by a lemony touch. Dry and mid-sweet fruity ending. Medium bodied. Soft on the swallow. Pleasing to a certain degree. (Trondheim 05.08.2017).
