COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OIBF Collaboration Brew: with Stillwater, our favorite brewing gypsy, we had many good times in Amsterdam and elsewhere. The idea of making a stout that would be reminiscent of a brownie with marihuana was alive for a while already. So we brewed a Milk Stout with Lactose and different Chocolate malt varieties and added the most dank, marihuana like hop varieties we could think of: Columbus, Apollo and Summit in the kettle, Mosaic and Simcoe in the hop back Apollo, Columbus and Simcoe as dry-hops.

bottle. pitch dark, smooth light brown head. roasted malty, dry stoutish aroma, very dry, not sweet, still notes of oats. flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, cookies, milk, complex hop profile, parts of it flowery, parts bitter. after some sips the beer appears sweeter than at the beginning.

33cl bottle (part of the Collaboration 6-pack) picked up at the taproom and poured into a shaker on 15-Jul-2017. Aroma of cocao nibs, roasted malt and hops. Full body and medium carbonation. Taste of chocolate cake, roasted malt and floral hops. Light bittersweetness. A pretty solid imperial stout - enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black beer with a big brown head on top. Aroma has lots of chocolate, some lactose, red fruits and a hint of hoppy citrus notes in the back. Flavor carries a lot of chocolate, really soft, propably some oats in there, some lactose in there, red fruits and has a rich deep sweet aftertaste. Nice and complex, very enjoyable brew.

Bottle, pours black with a light brown head. Aroma of weedy hops, some citrus. At 1 month before bb date, I suppose the aroma has been better, but it’s still quite nice. Taste has cocoa powder, milk chocolate, citrus. Sweet, creamy and fairly bitter. Nice stuff.

14-06-2017; bottle; at home (bought at Bier&zO, Rotterdam, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are lovely. It has everything a Imperial Stout, or any kind of stout, should have. The beer is extremely dark. The color of the beer is pitch black. Strong light reveals a slight brownish tone, but it doesn’t even have a ruby red glow. Just black. It is way to dark to see if it is cloudy. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft, brown foam is formed. Foam retention is average. The looks of the beer tell me that this is going to be a good one. The first aromas immediately confirm this. The smell is lovely. It is a great stout smell. It is mainly filled with lovely malt aromas. I smell nice toasted malts and burnt malts. There are bittersweet aromas of chocolate and coco powder, coffee, chocolate milk and some vanilla. There is a slight delicate bitter refreshing hop touch, but the focus is on the malts. The malt aromas are all very clear and pure. I like them. It has all the lovely chocolate touches and slight coffee touches that are also present in a brownie, so they’ve succeeded in this. Nice. The taste is also great. It is a bit sweeter and softer than the smell, because the milky aspect from the lactose is a bit clearer here. There are nice flavours of coffee, chocolate milk, coco powder and a nice bitter burnt malt touch. The malt flavours contribute to the sweetness and the bitterness. The lactose gives the beer a nice sweet softness. I like this. The hops are also a lot clearer in the taste. I taste some lovely fruity hops, with slight citrus aromas, some zest and a touch of passionfruit. Lovely. All is in very good balance. I love it. The palate of the beer is great. The beer has a nice and full body, without being heavy. The texture is soft and delicate, almost creamy, really giving a chocolate milk appearance. Carbonation is low medium. Amazing. The finish is lovely. There are clear burnt malts there, with some chocolate sweetness and a nice refreshing hop flavour. All in all, a lovely beer. One of the best Dutch Stouts I’ve had. Full of flavour, delicate and lovely. I could drink this all day every day.

A difficult one this, very odd. Aroma and taste are very milky/cream; bitter roast; and there is a hop infusion which makes this beer very peculiar.

Countbeer (6589) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAR 27, 2017
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer. Brown head. Beautiful nose of roast in its creamy and flavourfull aspects with the subtle but rich hoppy (fruity) tones perfectly tangled into one another. Flavours of again beautiful roasty tones with some subtle fruity hop tones. Great roasty tones with a light sweet lacto sprinkle. Tasting good! Aftertaste is bitter with a light roasty to dark tone and a light herbal crispy tinge. Low carbo, creamy silky mouthfeel, bit more than medium bodied. Wow, balanced and tasty. Rich flavour! Well done!
