COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Refreshing and fruity, Swingers is proud to be the first ‘Dutch Gose’ on the market. We add grapefruit and lime peels along with Citra hops to give this beer a quirky character.

We once wanted to brew the ultimate summer beer: reminiscent of sun, the beach and the fresh saltiness of the North Sea.

What came to mind was a ‘Gose’, a once popular beer that has fallen into obscurity. Originating from a German town called Goslar – hence the name – it became popular in Leipzig at the end of the 19th century. The water from this area was used in brewing and was known for being slightly salty. Brewing a ‘Gose’ was always on our bucket list given its funky character. This brew is refreshing, funky and has a quirky character.

Swingers is proud to be the first ‘Dutch Gose’ on the market. It has a distinctive style… not only salty, but with sour hints too. While it’s low in alcohol (4% ABV), it’s full of flavor. It is extremely fresh and fruity given the grapefruit peel, lime peel and the Citra hops we add.

Malts Pilsner Malt, Wheat Malt, Oat Malt.
Hops Each batch varies
Yeasts English Ale Yeast
Spicing Sea salt, Grapefruit peel, Lime peel

Draught at brewpub. Pours a very pale white yellow, very hazy, almost cloudy, with a nice white head and lacing. Nose is a lot of funk and a nice hint of ocean. Flavour is very limey. Light sweetness to start followed by a juicy burst of sourness. Quite a dry finish. Very light body, slightly prickly carbonation. Lingering lime on the finish. Good gose.

Hazy, pale golden body with a small, white, short-lived head. Moderate aroma of lemon, a light generic fruitiness, pale malts and minerals. Moderate flavour of lemon that transforms into lime, lots of minerals, and pale malts. Light sweet taste, light to moderate acidic and salt. Medium body, dry texture, very lively carbonation. Guess it’s ok if you love salty soft drinks.
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 8 months after bottling, from Vinmonopolet Ullevål, Oslo]
