Orange brown robe.
Nose of smoke and coffee then toffee.
Palate has a lot of smoke, not so much else.
Quite balanced but a bit too obvious on the smoke side, hides other stuff. HerrBierkoenig (1442) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - APR 30, 2017

UPDATED: APR 15, 2017 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a a very dark clear opaque to brown with a small off-white head and an aroma of toffee, smoked salmon, ashtray, bock beer, candy sugar and wood. The taste is medium sweet and heavily smokey with a mainly smokey finish. Very nice! Gangstergafje (1102) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - APR 8, 2017
The looks of the beer are as expected. The color of the beer is a coppery brown; ruby red in strong light. The beer has some cloudiness, but there is some clarity. It sure ain’t clear though. On top of the beer a layer of soft slightly offwhite foam is formed. The bulk of the foam collapses quickly, leaving a nice soft drape.
The smell of the beer is nice. I smell some roast aroma’s, and smoke aroma’s. The smokiness is nice, but not that strong. I’ve had stronger smoked beers. But it is nice that the smokiness is milder, especially for people that aren’t that much into smoked beer. The smoke aroma’s also contain a certain sour component. Not bad. There is also a nice spicy hop touch. Good. But I would like it to be a bit stronger.
The taste is pretty much the same. There is a nice maltiness, containing a touch of caramel and chocolate. There is also some dark fruit. Hopiness is mild. There is a nice smokey flavour to. Not that strong. It just gives a nice interesting touch to it. But it sure ain’t as strong as the label suggests.
The palate is fine. Nice medium body, medium light carbonation, smooth body, with a creamy touch. The finish is nice. Contains some alcohol warmth, a nice chocolate touch and a smokey hint. Lovely. Not bad. Borresteijn (6969) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 24, 2017

Ruikt maar karamel, weinig rook. Smaakt wel erg rokerig. Een asbak met wat bokkigs zoet. Wel beetje slijmerig. Bosbouw (2899) - Gemonde, NETHERLANDS - FEB 2, 2017
