0.33 l bottle from 'Mitra' (Den Bosch), best before September 2019. Clear, dark reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, fairly smoky aroma of caramel, lots of smoked eel, campfire and some sauerkraut. Quite sweet, malty, rather smoky taste of caramel, smoked eel, campfire, sauerkraut, some nuts and a touch of licorice, followed by a short, moderately bitter, very smoky and slightly dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice Rauchbock!

Voor de naam chainsmoker vind ik het niet de lading dekken. Niet echt rokerig. Beetje te saai ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thank you for sharing! Sampled draft @ BAF 2017. Deep brown amber. Nose is herbal, medicinal smoke, leaves. Herbal fizzy smoked, almost medicinal bitter leaves, smoke is bit much, almost medicinal. Fizzy bodied, not optimal but not bad.

Orange brown robe.
Nose of smoke and coffee then toffee.
Light/medium body.
Palate has a lot of smoke, not so much else.
Quite balanced but a bit too obvious on the smoke side, hides other stuff.

The looks of the beer are as expected. The color of the beer is a coppery brown; ruby red in strong light. The beer has some cloudiness, but there is some clarity. It sure ain’t clear though. On top of the beer a layer of soft slightly offwhite foam is formed. The bulk of the foam collapses quickly, leaving a nice soft drape.
The smell of the beer is nice. I smell some roast aroma’s, and smoke aroma’s. The smokiness is nice, but not that strong. I’ve had stronger smoked beers. But it is nice that the smokiness is milder, especially for people that aren’t that much into smoked beer. The smoke aroma’s also contain a certain sour component. Not bad. There is also a nice spicy hop touch. Good. But I would like it to be a bit stronger.
The taste is pretty much the same. There is a nice maltiness, containing a touch of caramel and chocolate. There is also some dark fruit. Hopiness is mild. There is a nice smokey flavour to. Not that strong. It just gives a nice interesting touch to it. But it sure ain’t as strong as the label suggests.
The palate is fine. Nice medium body, medium light carbonation, smooth body, with a creamy touch. The finish is nice. Contains some alcohol warmth, a nice chocolate touch and a smokey hint. Lovely. Not bad.
