Sampled draft @ Eet & Bierlokaal De Molen during RBESG 2013. the Oersoep glasses are really beautiful. Pours dark brown with a creamy tanned head. Nose is light roast, sweet mocha, pie, lots of raspberry, very beautifully fruity. Taste is incredible raspberries, full like the real fruits with a great perfect sourness, chocolate pie, mocha, creamy chocolate, berries, creamy,… Very easy to drink. Man this is so good. Seems like these guys went from good to great. Too bad that all of their stuff if far too expensive unless if you manage to get hold of them at the few right places in Holland. I do hear that things might be changing in the future.

Dark reddish brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of cherries, chocolate, raspberries and caramel. Light sweet flavour, sour raspberries, chocolate, light bitter, dark chocolate. Very fruity. Creamy texture. Fruity finish, sour raspberries, lots of cacao and chocolate.
Reminds me in some ways of a good bar of raspberry chocolate. Lovely beer!

Tap @ Nijmegen as Ruby. Dark reddish brown color, short head. Aroma of chocolate, slight toast, red fruit like cherry and raspberry. Medium bitter, fruity taste, slight sour. Great balance between the sweet and bitter dark beer like a soft porter, with the fruity funkiness of cherry and brett. Lovely beer.

Bottle: Served in a taster: Smaller sized beige light brown foamy head that changes quickly into a lacing and than kind of disappears. Deep dark brown to black colored beer. Aroma has lots of raspberry, some strawberry, yeast, dust, herbs, malts, raspberry pits. Flavours of raspberry, toast, roast, coffee, chocolate, bitter, light tart as in raspberry tart. Delicious! Aftertaste is light bitter with a more present tartness with raspberry, chocolate, coffee and malt toast/roast. Low carbo, watery creamy texture, medium to lightly fuller body and a creamy texture. Very nice!

Pours an average frothy light brown head that slowly diminishes. Body is dark brown. Aroma contains light malts (roasted malts, grain, caramel, chocolate and coffee), light hops (citrus fruits, lemon grass), light yeasts (horse blanket) and raspberry, cassis, cherry, raisin and grape. Flavor starts off acidic, then it's acidic and light bitter and both linger on in a pleasant way for quite a while. There's some sweetness in there as well, hardly noticeable. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Once you get used to the acidity from the raspberry the other aromas come up and this beer turns out to be a pleasant surprise. It's a strange combination but it works for me. This is not an average day beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
