ALLOVATE (3015) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 20, 2015
Vibrant, ruby brown with a shiny, tannish pad atop that lasts the length. Initial, nutty, pecan pie and roast almond nose which displays hints of burnt sugar, nori sheets, sautéed mushroom and lamb fat. Sweet, toffee sweet on the palate. Light bodied but teeth rattling in its wake. Nutty with milk chocolate and buttery, meaty fatty notes. Light rust peaking through. Carbonic acid front with a gassy finish. Not enjoyable to drink. dark beer, roasted malt aroma, coffee and chocolate. The taste is slightly sweet watery and full of sugar. Yet well balanced. AlfredoGarcia (287) - Santiago, CHILE - MAY 25, 2015
500 ml bottle. Deep dark color with ugly white head, very waterish. Toasted sweet smell of strong malt and cream. Creamy taste and quite sweet, a little vainilla has well. Really enyojed this one, the aftertaste and smell could be way better to be balanced it with the first taste at mouth, wich is the best of this beer. ogivlado (7810) - Zagreb, CROATIA - APR 17, 2015
Bottled 500ml. -from Rudat Dortmund. Dark brown coloured, medium sized pale beige head, whiff of roast in the nose. Slight roasted malt, sweet caramel, and heavy sugar presence with notes of dog food in rather dry finish. Typical Oettinger; not good not bad, JUST (below) average. Thanks Ogi! There seems to be no end to these Oettingers.... Dark amber-tinged brown body with an off white/tan head that went away relatively fast. Vague malty aroma, raisins, dry, sweet. Unpleasant sweet malty taste, raisins, dog food, almost no bitterness - and what little there is is unimpressive, thin, empty. Sorry but no... (Oettinger Schwarzbier) Bottle 500 ml at home, served into a glass tankard, ABV 4.9%
Brown coloured body, almost two fingers of thin, tan head, with average retention, leaving light lacing on the glass.
Suspiciously sour notes on the aroma, dust, malts.
Taste is sweet, not much in there, some malts and caramel, metal on the finish.
Medium thin bosy, carbonation on the low side.
Okay I guess, surely I didn’t hate it but it was a bit boring.
