DSG (14784) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - OCT 27, 2014
Can. As Oettinger Schwarz. Dark brown with faint red hues and a nice, slowly-dissipating, big tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, a bit of chocolate, dark bread, toast and a light roasty touch. Sweet flavor, malty, caramelly, somewhat sugary, with some dark bread, toast, a nutty note and faint bitterish and roasty hints in the finish. Too sweet, but passable.

PsychoGunnar (201) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 11, 2014
Beautifully black with coarse-grained, thick foam. Smells cozy and homely (in the positive sense). The taste is rather unexciting, though - no personality compared to other schwarzbiers. That is until the aftertaste kicks in; this is quite good.

GuideDogSaint (1489) - Xiamen, CHINA - OCT 10, 2014
500ml can from a supermarket in Xiamen, China. Pours dark brown/black with a thin white head. Roast malt aroma. Sweetish finish.

Moebbels (797) - FINLAND - SEP 30, 2014
Pours a clear, not quite pitch black body with a light brown well-lasting head. The nose has some roasty notes, chokolate and rye. The taste is fairly mild, sweet with a dry lasting finish. Carbonation feels smooth but is pretty high. The mouthfeel is average. A decent easy-drinking beer.

Mainuh_man (291) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 29, 2014
0.5L bottle. Pours clear black with a rocky tan head that dissipates quickly. Mild aromas of roasted malt and minerals (iron). Not much flavor going on in this one. Some light cereal grain, a bit of roasted malt and molasses. Middle/end is herby hop and some nutty flavors (not particularly pleasant). Medium-body with a thin mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Overall, a pretty mediocre schwarzbier. Missing a lot of the flavor/aroma profile that makes this style nice.

Alengrin (5369) - BELGIUM - AUG 25, 2014
Western German interpretation of the style with creamy, light beige, opening head and very dark burgundy colour, blackish but still transparent, clear. Straightforward caramel aroma, toasted bread, coffee, some bitter chocolate, floral hops, dried fruits, iron. Caramel taste, soft and slick, metallic, one-dimensional roasted bitterness, bit thin but still ensuring a long finish. Mediocre, in all.

Bottle. Dark deep black brown, with nice beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasty, Caramalz. Taste is dry, light sweet. Aftertaste has coffee and roasted malt. Way better than expected and the rest of Oettinger.
