Bottle 50cl. @ home.yespr (45508) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2008
Clear dark red brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, beanes, sea water (salty). Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. For me as a chemicale beer. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft.
50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish hue and a dense light tan head. Dense roasted malt and light sweet caramel note in the aroma. Breadish and roasted malt flavour. Light acidity and a smooth chocolate note. Nice bitter and light acidic roasted flavour into the finish. Continues with a smooth yet bitter chocolate driven far finish. A red-brown beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is lovely sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also some chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted bread, caramel, and straw, but the body is a little thin. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - DEC 14, 2009
Bottled (thanks Timo A!). Very deep ruby colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is caramel malts, some syrup as well as toffee. Flavour is quite much the same and overly sweet. Could do with some ingredients that balances the sweetness up. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 26, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Oettinger seems to brew each and every German style you can possibly think of, so of course there also had to be a Schwarzbier. Almost pitch black, but not completely opaque. Tall and handsome beige head that leaves a lacework. Very aromatic with notes of licorice and not quite as dry as the typical Schwarzes. Actually this is surprisingly soft and a positive surprise from Oettinger. 050200

42nd Floor Tasting. Can thanks to Fergus. Clear brown beerm small pale tan head. Palate is softish and has modest carbonation. Caramel malts, trace of cream. Sweetish dried fruits. Finishes light and dry. Clean but crushingly dull.
Bottle shared on the 42nd floor - many thanks to Fergus. Pours clear brown with a frothy beige head. Sugary brown bread in the nose, some cola, burnt herbs. Light sweet flavor with subtle earthy bitterness, mild cocoa, toast. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with light burnt toast, hints of cocoa, burnt caramel, earth. Drinks pretty good. 500m Flasche.
