Great schwarzbier! Nice roasted, light coffee aroma. Black colour, off-white frothy head, very nice lace. Creamy, well roasted flavors with coffee and chocolate. Good body for a schwarzbier. Also brewed by Oettinger Brauerei in Oettingen where my bottle came from. thewolf (12600) - Kolding, DENMARK - AUG 7, 2006
Beautiful deep nutty brown red colour with little creamy off-white head. Lightly roasted aroma with nutty and raisin tones. Very sweet taste with roasted and some sweet fruity tones. Good mouthfeel - quite good. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 1, 2011
50cl often recycled bottle pours clear deep amber with dark ruby red hues and thin tan head. The aroma offers up a light amount of Bing cherry and raisin fruity esteriness followed quickly by some caramel malts and dark roasted malts. The taste has dark roasted malts mixing with thin rings of cherries and raisins and it then floats into the finish on a moderately dark and roasty and burnt malt and ever so slightly earthy hop carpet ride. At times I get a bit of caramel or toffee roaming around well of in the distance holding a green umbrella. Yeah . . . , a green one. Jeppe (2631) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - APR 20, 2004
Black body with a medium though disappearing head. Delicious bittersweet roasted malt aroma with some hops and brown sugar. Flavor is roasted malt and hops with caramel and brown sugar tones. Not as sweet as expectet and as most other schwarzbiers. Nice and tastefull. imaragingbull (572) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 31, 2013
Can pours dark cola brown with light tan head. Big malty aroma atop of light noble hops. Med light body, med carbonation. Tasty malt character finishing lightly sweet with hints of mocha

Beautifully black with coarse-grained, thick foam. Smells cozy and homely (in the positive sense). The taste is rather unexciting, though - no personality compared to other schwarzbiers. That is until the aftertaste kicks in; this is quite good. Ungstrup (37665) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - FEB 27, 2005
A red-brown beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is lovely sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also some chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted bread, caramel, and straw, but the body is a little thin. erling1000 (725) - - JAN 14, 2017
An almist black, german Schwarzbier with creamy, light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, yeast, light prune. Taste is bitter. clvand0 (350) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - JAN 7, 2004
This beer was brought back by some friends who went to Germany. Poured a light amber color and had a big head and left some nice lacing on the glass. The aroma was mostly a wheaty smell with a little lemon. The flavor was much like the aroma - a wheat taste with a hint of lemon but it has a certain bitterness about it that most of this type don't. Not bad at all.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish hue and a dense light tan head. Dense roasted malt and light sweet caramel note in the aroma. Breadish and roasted malt flavour. Light acidity and a smooth chocolate note. Nice bitter and light acidic roasted flavour into the finish. Continues with a smooth yet bitter chocolate driven far finish.
