The hemp seeds have a slightly sour taste on the back end. It’s a light and clean beer throughout, but was disappointing overall. jmohno (1652) - Iowa, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Black but somewhat transparent with red.Mild head.
Slightly sweet and bready, very slightly nutty and very faint esters for being a blegian yeast.
Taste is med/light bodied slight fruityness bitter sweet with very light chocolate/coffee notes faintly nutty with a good bittering and roasty.Pretty clean and tasty really. Balanced well and good sessionability. A good beer. seymour (2096) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - DEC 6, 2011
Tasted from bottle into standard pint glass. Poured a very, very dark brown color with fluffy off-white foam, long-lasting with good lace. Strong, pleasant aromas of roasted grains, fresh-baked bread, fruitcake, some citrusy hops. Fruity and dry dark ale flavors reminiscent of Smithwicks or Black Toad, but much hoppier. I like the idea of brewing with hemp seeds, but I thinks it’s mainly a marketing angle. Botanically, hemp is nearly interchangeable with hops, so there isn’t much too distinguish this from a recipe with an equal amount of hops instead. Light-medium body, slick mouthfeel, fruity and refreshing aftertaste. Overall, tasty and highly drinkable. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - NOV 23, 2011

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Bottle aged from last winter. Pours a very dark black with almost no head. Aroma of roasty coffee malt and some slighlty sweet citrus hops. Taste starts lightly sweet and ends lightly bitter. Taste of oats, honey and a slight aftertaste of coffee. Medium-full bodied with a thick and creamy texture. Fizzy carbonation and a long sweet finish. Overall, not too bad. Nothing I would seek out but probably something to try at least once. I’ve really never had anything quite like it. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 9, 2011
Draft... Dark mahogany with clear amber on the sides, a nice last light tan head... Light nose of barley, molasses and bit of chocolate on the finish... The taste is ok, molasses with a weird finish that’s distracting Drake (14061) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 26, 2011

Pours a black color with a light tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, slight roasted malts, slight bit of rye, and a hint of citrus hops. Flavor is watered down with mostly chocolate, toasted and roasted malts. No lingering flavor.
