Try our new refreshingly light and crisp Strawberry Best! We start with an American Wheat style recipe that’s a perfect compliment for fruit. We add real strawberry puree to the secondary fermentation, which gives the beer a naturally subtle strawberry flavor and aroma with a slight tartness. Light in color and soft in bitterness this beer is designed specifically to be enjoyed during the hot summer months.

DATE: June 3, 2017... OCCASION: picture-perfect end-of-spring kind of day... deserves something light that promises refreshment... GLASSWARE: Blanche de Chambly flute... crackles and fizzes as it enters the glass, a hazy, sediment-laden light brass body whose activity inspires the hope of fresh strawberries and wheat... head vaporizes on impact to a thin ring of white pearls... soft strawberry is apparent, as is the malty butter/cracker that gives this an ale kind of expectation.... earthiness, like a vine or soil, is inferred as well... vibrant on the lips, thin and oily through the mouth, and slippery upon its exit--an expedient to the day, and lightly refreshing, but does not really announce itself as a beer, wheat or otherwise, save for a residual maltiness at its end.... the flavor profile is thin as its aroma--strawberry, apple and pear, hay, cracker, some malty adjunct insinuations, and tartness that piques the interest for another sip... maybe it’s not hot enough yet, but this is reasonable at best, with a proper setting needed for peak enjoyment...

80 degree night. Hopefully it meets the stringent designations that this beer was designed to flourish it. Last of my Ofallon wack-pack. Real puree huh..wow. Pretty tolerable light strawberry ale. Old school fruit beer. Drinkable, but wholly unimpressive and hardly "craft".

gripweed57 (3055) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - MAR 20, 2017
12 ounce bottle. Hazy medium gold color. Small white head disappears quickly. Fruity malt nose is redolent of red bee rise. Flavor is tart wheat malt with sweet berry notes. Thin, watery body. Light grainy middle. Insipid, bland finish is devoid of any hop flavor. No thanks.

Draft at brewery. Slick gold color. Unbearable artificial strawberry. Yuck strawberry bubblegum cough syrup. Bland beer underneath.

Sampler pours golden with a white head. Aroma and taste is strawberries and grains.

tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAY 22, 2016
bottle to sampler at fest. mild to medium malt and strawberry nose..not sure if puree or straight up strawberries. but its a pleasant aroma and a little sweeter on the flavor but if you like strawberries its pretty good. I know they (ofallon) make some decent fruit beers and this falls in line with most of them...drinkable on a hot summer day though.

On tap. Served a cloudy golden color with a small head. Aroma of strawberry and grain. Taste of strawberry with a bit of grain. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Light body, slight crispness and quite smooth and not overly sweet.. No a bad summer beer.

Poured a golden color with a white head. Aroma was a big strawberry, not much else. Flavor disappointing, bland caramel beer with light strawberry.

This is better than I expected but I expected it to be horrible. It basically smells exactly like Cap’n Crunch w/ Crunch Berries--lots of cereal grain and a fairly strong berry notes. It is pretty much just a bland blond w/ some strawberries dumped in but there is some actual beer character here and the only off note is very slight oxidation and it makes up for it w/ a light but full bodied texture. I believe this may be the best O’Fallon beer I have had.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/21/2015. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy bright golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of strawberry, melon, pear, apple, light banana/clove, wheat, cracker, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good strawberry presence and light-moderate fruity yeast and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of strawberry, melon, pear, apple, light banana/clove, wheat, cracker, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy yeast spice/bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of strawberry, melon, pear, apple, light banana/clove, wheat, cracker, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance and solid robustness of strawberry, pale malt, and fruity/earthy yeast flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium boacied; with a very smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a solid fruit wheat ale. All around good balance and solid robustness of strawberry, pale malt, and fruity/earthy yeast notes; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.
