COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For Apex Predator Farmhouse Ale, we pitch the yeast cold, turn off the temperature control, and let the yeast do its thing. To our delight, it spat out the sweet scent of juicy fruit wafting from a frothy, white mane. Brewed only with grain and sugar unencumbered by the heat of the kiln, we create a hazy, golden body. Apex Predator gets its teeth from a generous Crystal dry-hopping that completes the dry finish with a fruity bite. Pounce on the opportunity to let it part your lips and you may find yourself at the top of the food chain.

Aroma is bright and lemony, flavor is heavily tropical fruit. Could stand to be dryer, and maybe not so much hops. Decent, but not great.

Pours an orange yellow color. Very carbonated, took several attempts to pour the whole thing into my tulip. Very cloudy. Good initial head, some okay retention. Excellent lacing.

Aroma is wheaty. Yeasty. Coriander, bubble gum. Lemon, lemon peel.

Taste is lemon, lemon peel. Light coriander, light bitter hops. Some grassiness. Some banana. Maybe a touch of pear.

Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied. A little creamy and smooth. Good carbonation really helps propel the flavors.

Overall, this is remarkably good. Id recommend it, and Id buy it again. Thats all.

Hazy straw hue with a generous fluffy head. Big juicy NE IPA tones of guava and light grassy pineapple and a touch of clementine. Bright effervescent and lightly herbal flavor with guava and papaya juicy tones and a little flourish of grassy hops, and a semisweet smooth juicy finish. Light farmhouse graininess on the finish.

Pours a cloudy, pale yellow with thick, white, persistent foam. Some pale malt in the nose but lots of citrus / mango hops and yeast. Medium body, active fizz and slightly watery texture, finishes fairly dry and astringent. Cold, the beer tastes much like a citrusy IPA with hints of esters and mineral. As it warms, the yeast profile becomes more dominant and balances the hops better. The label calls it a farmhouse beer and it is apparently brewed without heat. The Crystal hops are a good touch that creates a good balance, but it also raises the question of what the beer might taste like without the dry-hopping. A slight outlier in the saison family, but well done.
