Tap (Happy Gnome); pours nearly black with a tan head; aroma of chocolate, vanilla, sugar, and a hint of graham crackers; taste is sweet with vanilla, chocolate, and a hint of graham crackers; finish is dry; good beer but I did not really notice the marshmallow.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours an opaque motor oil dark brown colored brew with an average sized tan head that quickly dissipates and leaves a tan ring and film top. Aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla some light graham cracker and dark pitted fruits. Taste is full bodied with flavors of dark chocolate, vanilla and some sweet graham cracker. Finish is sweet with a lingering chocolate and vanilla aftertaste. Alcohol is well hidden until you stand up.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle poured into a snifter. The aroma is a warm graham cracker, with vanilla and some marshmallow. The beer is a rich, murky, oily dark-red brown with a sparse, thin and sudsy / soapy brown head that has a very light retention and no lace. The taste is a medium high sweet and medium bitter. The texture is syrupy and slightly thick with a light, fizzy carbonation and a full, smokey body with sample chocolate notes, some vanilla, and a secondary graham cracker and roasted grains flavor. The finish contains some raisin like notes, but is mostly smokey with molasses, graham crackers, and marshmallow. The aftertaste is ashy with cocoa and vanilla notes.

Bottle. Stouty brownish-black, film for a head. Nose is roast, vanilla, S’mores... yeah. Mouth is relatively sweet, slick and chock full of stouty, campfire snack goodness. Solid.

12oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with a large tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, cocoa, vanilla, and alcohol. Very sweet, cocoa and vanilla really stick out, light marshmallow and graham cracker notes heading into a big boozy bitter finish. Salright...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Flat, dark pour and a cool label, which features a drawing of a mouse. This is a classic IS - big, rich, and potent. Chocolate, molasses, bourbon, marshmallow, punch, prune, and pumpernickel bagels in the flavor. Brewed with graham crackers! Boozy with toasted/burnt malts. The aroma has some floral bouquet to it. Very good.
