Pours a brown from a bottle, slight coffee aroma and flavor. But really quite insipid, flat and watery. Not a very good beer. Gruffyboy (41) - - JUN 5, 2015
Very non-descript all round; clear dark brown pour, little aroma and a very light taste with some bitterness

Pint on tap. Pours almost black, too dark for the style. Aroma is uninspiring. Taste is more bitter than I was expecting, and not very nutty, either. Kind of a heavy palate but medium on the tongue, medium-long aftertaste. OK beer overall. scarletfire65 (1485) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Bomber purchased in P-Town. Aroma is nutty, chocolate, caramel. Good sweetness, with roasty chocolate flavors. Lots of hazelnut, with a moderately bitter finish. Light bodied and interesting enough to make it sessionable. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - SEP 6, 2012
Sampled in a bomber. Pours deep brown with a thin Lacey head. Quality malts but harsh aftertaste.

22oz bottle in a styrofoam cup. Pours brown with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of nutty and caramel malts and floral hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent beer. JawVer (39) - - JUL 15, 2012
Draft pours dark brown with thin head. Nutty and chocolate notes but not overpowering nickd717 (4772) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 12, 2012
Bomber purchased on the Vineyaaahhhd and consumed back in the boring old SF Bay Area. I can just hear Padma Lakshmi saying it: "nickd717, you are top ticker" (of Offshore Ale Co, for the time being). The beer pours a fairly clear dark chestnut color with a small khaki head. Pretty nice aroma, toasty and nutty. The flavor has touches of cocoa, toast, roasted nuts, and caramel. Fairly complex. Mouthfeel is not great though, a bit astringent and thin on the palate. Not a bad beer overall, but I tired of it after a few ounces. j12601 (12973) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 27, 2012
Bottle. Pours a lightly hazed brown with a medium to large beige head. Roast and cocoa on the nose, a touch of malt. Medium bodied, sweet malt and nutty tones leading into a soft bitterness. Cocoa and nutty bitterness on the finish. Decent and easy drinking. MaBeer1972 (2120) - Reno, Nevada, USA - MAY 14, 2012
22 oz bottle. A deep ruby brown brew with light tan head. Malty-tart aromas. Body is medium. Flavor is well rounded. Lots of chocolate malts, some hazlenut notes. Very easy drinking. A basic, but flavorful and drinkable brown ale.
