On tap at the Tustin Oggi’s. Seems old. Pours with a small white head and a deep brown body. Aroma of rye, caramel, sweet, spicy. Taste is sweet, spicy and slight lactic. Could be a bad tap line as well as most of the bar goers are BMC drinkers and this seems to go un-noticed. No hops in flavor or aroma but bitter. Light bubbles and dry mouthfeel. papajohn (1250) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - MAR 4, 2010

Carmel Mtn. Ranch: Deep ruby brown color with a small tan head. Aroma is Malty with a hint of cocoa. Flavor is rich and malty with some light burnt caramel and a dry stout like coffee bitter finish. Full body is smooth and creamy with moderate carbonation.
On tap at Mission Valley location. Dark with red tints. Thick dense tan head. Creamy velvety mouthfeel. Lots of movement in the mouth. Long creamy taste with spice and bitterness building. Lots of alcohol at the end. Thick and gooey mouth halfway through the pint. The malty hints become more prominent as the glass warms. Nice offering. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - DEC 26, 2009
