On tap in Mission Valley after braving Costco the day before Thanksgiving. Red in color with off white head. Nice spicy maltiness to it. A bit light in the back. Enough sweetness without being too much. Fine beer. mjg74 (3106) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAY 4, 2006
Tap, Mission Valley. Pours dark amber in color. Aroma is somewhat sweet with some noticable hoppiness. Slightly metallic malty flavor. Finish is a little hoppy and bitter. aspidites (1272) - manteca, California, USA - MAR 9, 2005
Nice balaced amber ale. Good crystal malt note some hints of black tea and caramel. The roasted malts are slightly noticeable with agood balanced hop bitterness. Nice hop resin nose with some malt sweetness coming thru. Volgon (2763) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 12, 2002
On tap GABF 02: Pine/resin aroma, syrupy mouthfeel. A bit too much hops for the style, but like I’m gonna complain. papajohn (1250) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - JUL 31, 2002
UPDATED: DEC 17, 2004 A light sweet malt taste, followed by a hint of hops. Quite quaffable.
