Blind tasting at Papsoes place, another great session, thanks Henrik! Beer #5: Pours hazy to cloudy orange with a huge white head. Aroma is dry hoppy and light pinewood, mild orange peel note in addition. Flavour is fruity hops with a subdued caramel malt base. Dry hops finish. Lingering dry and light fruity finish. Shows an additive note what could remind me of added spices, but I guess it is the hops. Ungstrup (37889) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - APR 20, 2008
Bottled. An unclear orange beer with yeast sediment floating around under a huge cream colored head. The aroma is sweet mlaty combined with notes of citrus and flowers. The flavor is sweet and acidic with strong notes of fruit (peaches being strongest) and spices - especially coriander on a malty back ground, but also with an alcohol note that leaves a burn on the tongue. The finish is dry and spicy. joergen (28410) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 20, 2008
Hazy golden coloured with a huge off white ehad.
Fruity aroma of spices and yeast with notes of hops and pine needles.
Fruity flavour of spices, yeast, hops and pine needles.
Dry hoppy and yeasty finish. omhper (25250) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUL 26, 2010
Draught at Oggi’s, Sta. Clarita, CA. Clear amber, small head Aroma of pine needles, resin and kumquat. Mid sweet with sold body. Flavour of caramel and salted kumquat. Heavily resiny bitterness. Edgy, but flavourful. Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 25, 2008
(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of fordest. Pours a hazy amber golden with floating impurities and a creamy, off-white head. Lightly perfumy nose with yeast and diacetyl. Medium-bodied, some fruit and caramel with a solid, bitter finish. I could have hoped for a more distinct and clean hoppiness. This is just bitter and very dry. 190408

Cloudy deep blond color; small creamy head. Fruity hop aroma, oranges, a bit flowery; apples too. Rich toffee flavor, medium bodied; strong hopping, partially fruity and boldly resiny; the final is strong, tannic and resiny. Bold sample.

Cloudy blond color. The aroma is lightly fruity (pineapple). Average body strength, strong caramel and toffee flavor, very strong bitterness, with some hop oils but just light fruits. It’s not a bad beer, but of all the IPA’s is one of the more basic.
Draught at Oggi’s in Vista, California. Clear golden beer with a really nice lasting offwhite head. Hoppy citrus aroma, peach, citrus, grapes, caramel notes. Hoppy citrus flavor, grassy, herbal, bread notes. Not my kind of IPA. Oakes (17831) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 9, 2001
Fruity-hoppy aroma; richly hoppy flavour, but with an almost chewy maltiness underneath. brokensail (16486) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 16, 2011
A: The pour is a golden orange/amber color with a finger of white head and some mild lacing.
S: Fairly typical and middle of the road IPA aroma to this beer. Heavy on the pine notes with a big lemon smell and some decent citrus peel. Bready malts and mild toffee give this some sweetness.
T: A big time lemon flavor that is almost like a lemon scented cleaner. Decently bitter with a bit of an herbal hop flavor and some grassiness. A moderate malt character with a mild sweetness.
M: Medium in body with a medium carbonation.
O: Not bad, but a really middle of the road IPA. Nothing I’d care to have again. bhensonb (15345) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 24, 2007
Draft at Oggi’s, Liberty Station Point Loma. Citrus and pine aroma. Strange, but attractive, amber orange gold color. Thinnish in body. Medium carbonation. Some sweet light malt more than balanced with medicinal hops. The finish is quite dry and decently bitter. A different approach to an IPA. Worked for me.
