I did the sampler at O’griff’s and this was one of them. To me it was like drinking watery strawberry jam. Won’t have it again

Draft at O’Griff’s. Pours a very bright pale straw with a thin white head. Nose is artificial strawberry flavoring. Vanilla cream and faint pils malt. On tasting, artificial strawberries and cream. Faint tartness, perfumey. Not a fan of the artificial notes. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - SEP 6, 2009
Pint served on draft at the brewpub in a big plastic cup (Quincy, IL). Pours a reddish amber with small white head that clings to the corners, films, laces lightly. Aromas are sweet strawberry candies, a touch syrupy and sugary, hiding much else overall. Ok, I guess. Initial is light, cereal malts covered up by some decent strawberry sweetness, a bit sugary overall, as grainy and cereal aftertaste stick through, linger with a touch of sweetness and lighter strawberry. The strawberry flavor isn’t bad, I just think it is a tad artificial overall. Finish is grainy, sweet, forgettable. A panty dropper for sure, though. Cheers. An ale by appearance, this beer had a sweet aroma but it was definitely not ovepowering. Strawberry flavors were expected but were not that evident, just a hint, really. A pleasant beer for a fruit beer. Crash (532) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - AUG 10, 2004
Strawberry smell which wasn’t too shocking. Slight wheat flavor with nice strawberry taste that takes over but, doesn’t kill everything. This is one of the first flavored beers where the fruit didn’t taste flat. Good overall but, I would have liked it a bit stronger.
