Big offwhite head. Clear coppery still body. Resiny rubbery aroma with catty notes. Dry resiny wooden taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Dry resiny rubbery aftertaste with catty notes. Not bad, but too harshly hopped. (0.35l can from liquor store in Setagaya, Tokyo.)

Can. Golden, fine floaters, grey lace. Tropical fruit hop. Medium body, good chewy mouthfeel. Nice hop range, orange, tropical. Neat.

Clear golden with little white head. Aroma is mint, dust, orange, grapefruit. Taste is harsh bitter cracker malt with lots of mint and hoppy stuff. Easy to drink. A bit alcoholic in the finish. Not bad.

Loved the white head of this. This simple but crisp and dry pale ale suits me just fine. Bit off balanced. bitterness with no backup.

Pretty decent IPA that I picked up at a grocery store in the Nagano station in 2017. A nice complement to the Shinkansen ride back to Tokyo. Pale and a little bready. A nice pine and citrus bite at the end.

IslandHaole (1275) - Misawa, JAPAN - JAN 28, 2017
Crystal clear medium golden with a cream colored head, lively carbonation. Very nice hop scent, pine & citrus with hints of allspice & cedar shavings. Crisp & dry, mostly hop flavors, the malts tried to balance it but fails, bitter. A bit thin but still much better than 95% of the Japanese offerings in the supermarket.

Light gold pour with a decent white head. Malty, caramel, grassy, tropical fruit aromas. Taste is pine, citrus, good malt backbone, slightly sweet with a long mild bitter finish. Not bad.

33 can at "home". Clear golden color. Rocky, somewhat frothy off whie head with some lacing. Aroma’s: malty, aromahops, light fruit. Fruit is more upfront retronasal, with some citrussy hops. Flavor is light to moderate bitter with a light malty sweetness and light fruit. Light bodied. Finishes a bit earthy and with a decent bitterness.
