Can from my local Natural Lawson, fresh batch. Pours transparent, nicely golden, some white foam on top. Nose has some grainy base, light tropical hops covering that. Feels like they have reduced the hop bill compared with the last incarnation of this beer. Now feels actually a bit soapy, grainily soapy. Taste brings out more of that hop character, feels quite fresh and with a medium hop level. Finish is dry, bitter and with lingering herbal hops. Probably one of the best session IPL's in Japan.

11/VIII/17 - 350ml can from a trade @ home - BB: 2018/II/10 (2017-1202) Thanks to shoulderbroken for the trade!

Clear orange beer, nice creamy irregular off-white head, unstable, falls down quickly, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of tropical fruits, bit funky, resinous, some grapefruit notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots and lots of citrus, grapefruit, bit watery though, grassy, bitter. Aftertaste: some tropical fruits, fairly bitter, grassy, bit metallic, little sweet and malty, passion fruits, grains, nice one!

Can from Seijo Ishii, 4.5%. Gold pour, dense half finger of foam. Piney aroma, grapefruit, citrus, pissy. Grass, grain malts, with plenty of pine, grapefruit. Spritzy front but with a smooth medium body, rising prickly bitterness late, bitey like CC but more approachable. I agree with KBL, it did get even nicer towards the end as it warmed a bit, more rounded in the back half. Nice one.

About 330¥ at Seijo Ishii, this is the same team that brought you Captain Crow a standout J-craft reasonably priced hoppy beer. For this follow-up collaboration they made a hoppy lager that is a crystal clear gold with a thick fluffy white head and a fragrant piney hop bouquet with a bit of fruit to sweeten up the aroma - nice. Medium to full bodied, the taste is bitter pine, woodsy, a little herbal and finishing quite dry. Good but I prefer the slightly cheaper Captain Crow I think. It grew on me though as it warmed, becoming more balanced and flavorful.

Can thanks to Nevitt. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A nice sweet toast and fruity hop nose. Sweet caramel, fresh tropical hops, biscuit....this is awesome! Lovely smooth floral and citrus IPL.

Can (w/o the "Proto" in the name -- I assume it is the same beer). Nose of Nelson, citrus, all quite rich. Medium gold color. Nelson fruitiness, light caramel, with a bit of hop burn in late mid and final. Okay. But certainly overdone with the Nelson hops.

Trapped in purgatory A lifeless object, alive Awaiting reprisal Death will be their acquiescence The sky is turning red Return to power draws near Fall into me, the sky’s crimson tears Abolish the rules made of stone Pierced from below, souls of my treacherous past Betrayed by many, now ornaments dripping above

golden color. Frothy white head. Massive big dry hoppy bitter nose. Dry brimming with hops, that scorch across your throat.

Tap at Keyaki Spring 2017. PRetty, glowing gold with a low, thick head. Pissy Nelson nose, grapefruit, crackers. Grassy, fruity flavor, crackers, some cat piss, and a peppery, prickly finish. Crisp and grain with great hops. Nicely bitter. Classy stuff.
