At the Moon under the Water in Watford. Pours a super dark brown with a loose tan head. The rich roasted malt, dark fruit, brown sugar. The taste is pretty much as it smells with a dry roasty end. Light/medium in body with fine carbonation.

Cask @ Spoons, Edinburgh. Spring Beer Festival (Ratings Backlog). Pours black with a tan head. Nose is rich, chocolate, malty, berries. Taste is chocolate, slight coffee and then you do get a little warming port. Cask at the crosse keys, city. Dark black / brown coloured pour with a lasting dirty greyish tam head. Aroma is dark choc, mineral flint, dry powdered choc and dirt. Flavour is composed of semi sweet chocolate malts, medium bitter roast and mineral, burnt toast. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, slightly thin, lowish cask condition. Black with a thick, cream-coloured head. There are dark malts, chocolate and a little smoke in the aroma. The body is disappointingly thin and watery but the flavours are appealing - a pleasant blend of cocoa, cream, caramel and berries, although I couldn’t detect much of the promised port. Okay.
