Black with thick tan lasting head good aroma with some coffee and chocolate hints Some initial sweetness in the taste which may come from the port then a nice roasty coffee bitterness develops. Some lingering warmth at the finish - oddly for a modest abv. Maybe it is the port found it a bit watery but decent.

Deep dark brown with a red tint and a lasting creamy frothy beige head. Smells of burnt malt, chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, caramel and sweet malt. Medium frothy oily body with no carbonation. Mellow rounded roast, with burn malt with dark chocolate, dried fruit and a nice bitter coffee roast finish. The finish has a slight metallic finish. A nice smooth stout with a roast finish and a dry nice decent character.

Keg at The Rake. Dark brown to black with a thick two inch head. Aroma is toffee, burnt toast, caramel, coffee, I could sniff this for hours. The taste is nice, much of the same from the nose of the beer, thick, rich with different flavours coming and going as the beer warmed. Quite good
