This higher alcohol stout is my current favorite when I am not drinking IPA’s. The longer it sits in the glass, the better it tastes. Pours very dark, tastes of coffee, bitter chocolate.

Draft. Coffee, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Dark brown with small head. Mildly sweet coffee, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Good body. Excellent.

Draft at the brewery. This was the best one of the night. Poured black with a decent tan head. Malt and oat on the nose. Flavors were roasted malt, semi-sweet chocolate, and a hint of coffee. Mouth was slightly chalky. Decent stout!

Real nice stout I enjoyed on tap during happy hour. More robust than most dry stouts, but it still maintained it’s drinkable demeanor. Calm roasty aroma, very malty with a milky creamy scent. Dark body with a heavy light brown head and good lacing. Nutty with plenty of toasted malts followed by a creamy sweetness. A solid bitterness found it’s way onto my taste buds about halfway through the pint. Very good and very satisfying.

12oz bottle (the label says 6.1% ABV) - pours exactly like ice-less Coca-Cola Classic, even with the bubbles lining the side of the glass. Nose is roasted malts with coffee. Flavor adds caramel and chocolate and trace resin. Taste is sweet with a subtly long hoppy finish. Sticky mouthfeel with a medium to full body. A seemingly licorice aftertaste. Not bad and would recommend to others that like stouts.

This isn’t a bad stout. Malty chocolate darkness in the nose. Head that fades. Not sweet not very dry... pretty balanced a pretty nice dry stout.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is dark brown, almost black with a medium thin light tan head that dissipates to an outer ring quickly. Stringy lacing. Roasted coffee and malt in the nose. Medium, dry body with roasted malt, coffee and semi-sweet chocolate flavors. The finish is roasted coffee with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Poured black color with an average creamy light brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted malt and sweet coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

On tap at OBC. Brown pour with a creamy beige head. Roasty coffee aroma with cream. Malty coffee flavor. Not overly complex, but decent.

DragonStout (1416) - Groveport, Ohio, USA - AUG 22, 2009
On tap at the BrewPub. POured a real bold black with virtually no head.Aromas was strong coffee and chocolate.Flavor was of the same but some semi sweetness seeping out.A very solid stout.
