341ml bottle. Very dark colour, filtered, some light gets through. Big, thick head with good lacing. Dark malt and lager yeast aroma. Chocolate malt, grain and a little sour flavour. Body and taste are creamy but a little watery. Overall, a decent balance between a lager and a stout.

Slight hints of chocolate and malt that peak in the aftertaste. Moderately carbonated. Tastes exactly what it says it tastes like in the description, a little bit more flavour would make it appeal to me a bit more.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2014 Pours a dark black color with a brown head that dissipates quickly. Smells of roasted chocolate malts, coffee and toast... but faintly not overly strong. Taste is a little bit of chocate and Munich malt but mainly light coffee taste. A nice Schwartz that has lots of flavor and good balance. Quevillon (3226) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 5, 2012
Drank at La Fête Bières & Saveurs de Chambly 2012, on September 2. Dark brown, small head. Aroma of roasted barley, well malted with hints of nuts. Taste slightly raw barley, malted nuts, little aftertaste. It drinks well, that’s it! steaky (26) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 1, 2012
Pours with thin and light head. Aroma of fruits. Palate is medium body with medium hopping. Tastes if roasted malt and chocolate bitter. Very satisfying!

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2014 6-pack purchased from a BC Liqour Store in Radium, BC on 08/10/2012. Colour: Black, hence the name. Medium grayish creamy head. Nose: Definitely some dark roast coffee, burnt toffee, trace of rubber, candy wrapper. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium-bitter, medium-light sour. What foolish little devil! Revs up to be a heavily roasted bitter blast judging from the nose, but settles down immensely in the mouth and displays shy notes of high percentage cocoa and green vegetables with a metallic and crisp lager feel. Excellent for decepting albeit in its own way dissapointing! kliggerwar (156) - - AUG 4, 2012
Good Beer. Nothing Special about it compared to other stouts but still a delicious beer good a nytime. Gerbeer (4304) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 27, 2012
On tap. Pours dark brown with light white head. Very light aromas of toasted malt. Smooth and easily drinkable but not much flavor other than a bit of malt. cards04 (2962) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 15, 2012
On tap. The color of cola, a bit of coffee on the nose and some sweet malts too. Tastes a bit like coffee. Dry and crisp finish. A bit of a bite on the finish. Mediocre. slimspady (218) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 15, 2012
Great looking dark black. Lets some light through. Can smell the roastiness right away. A little coffee too. Good malt flavor, hop bitterness comes through late. Carbonation is a little high, but still very smooth. Not heavy at all. Pretty good overall
