First brewed by Okanagan Spring in 1989, Extra Special Pale Ale is BC’s original pale ale and first craft brand. Clear and copper coloured, it’s fruity on the palate, hearty in hops, and firm in body with a nice dry finish.

Draught: This one pours a clear amber color. There was a thin off white head that left some lacing. The nose is OK. Some malts and grain, even fainter hops of the earthy and pine variety. The taste is good. A touch bitter, with some malts and graininess.

Canette de 473 ml. Arôme de fruits rencis, de céréales grillés et de houblon. Goût de fruits, de mélasse, de sucre brun et de houblon. Pas une réussite mais pas mal pour une canette à 2.99$

Manslow (1976) - Warsaw, POLAND - MAY 23, 2017
Butelka 0,341l nabyta na 3 ŚGB w Tychach. Kolor ciemny, bursztynowy, klarowny. piana znika pozostawiając małą obrączkę na szkle. Aromat jęczmienia i ziemi. W smaku słodowe, trochę owoców. Na finiszu wytrawne. Trochę nie mój styl ale bardzo poprawne.

Stoned99 (1704) - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 4, 2016
Sample from bottle as part of autumn big clean up. Aroma: strong caramel, molasses and nuts. Pale Ale? App: clear copper, small white head leaving bubbly lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, lots of caramel, moderate carbonation, moderate high sweetness, sweet and astringent finish. Overall: not good. This might be a bit old but this is really unpleasant. That sweetness and weird palate is really not interesting.

Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 4, 2016
Slightly hazy dark amber color with moderate activity. Slightly frothy beige 1 finger head, lasting around 5 minutes, with moderate legs. Flavors of caramel, lemon, sweet grains, faint herbal and red ale spices. Unpleasant bitterness. Slick medium body with prickly carbonation. Light finish, lingering roasted malts and bitter spices. Not very flavorful, a little stale, lacking some freshness. Overall not very well crafted.

Pours copper with a tan head. Aroma is malty, hoppy. Flavor is overly malty and sweet. Not very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lillooet, BC - Dina’s Restaurant - bottle. Medium amber pour, slight off white bubbly head Sweet aroma of brown sugar and gumballs. Flavor has some honey sweetness, some artificial citrus bitterness. Thick enough mouthfeel. Rating #24 of 2016 vacation.

bdleedahl (649) - , Saskatchewan, CANADA - JUL 9, 2016
Mild on the hops, nice malt profile. Fairly cleanly brewed, but nothing spectacular to say, a very standard pale ale made for the masses. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had on tap at the hotel bar in Stratford, On. Pours a nice deep Amber, off white head with decent retention. Minimal nose. Taste is malt forward, toast, bread, wet grains, mild flowers on the finish. Medium body. Syrupy.

Pretty decent and Anne liked it. Malt dominated. A bit low on hops but English style and true to style. On tap at Yanks.
