"Okells IPA is an extremely light coloured beer with a surprising full bodied taste, the sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. That gives the finished beer an over all roundness with very spicy lemony notes and a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness."

Gold with a white head. Floral hop aroma soon gave way to rather plodding sweet malt. Lemony taste with a lot of fizz was followed by a mid bitter finish. Didn’t particularly like this.

Just like the cask version, this beers predominant aromas and flavours are citrus, especially lemon and grapefruit. There are hints of lemongrass and the finish is zesty and hoppy.

berkshirejohn (6328) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 24, 2008
50cl bottle from Sainsburys. Amber with a fast fading white head leaving a rather flat looking drink; aroma has dusty hops and some cereal; citrus flavour but rather sweet; leaving a floury taste of under-cooked pastry.

rauchbier (3854) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2008
Bottle, from Sainsbury, Grimsby. Straw gold, thin but lasting white head and gentle condition. Pleasant citrusy hops and grainy malt in the nose, quite thin and dry in the mouth with touches of flowery hop and low malt, dry and hop bitter briefly in the finish.

Pale yellow and plentiful white head of large bubbles. The colour was promising. The nose is a little too subtle, slightly fruity, slightly leafy dry hops. Biscuity flavours go into a fairly subtle, fairly simple but peppery hop profile.

downender (8341) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 16, 2008
Bottle from Sainsburys. Pours pale gold with a billowing, off-white head. Aroma of straw, dusty malt and some grassy hops. Flavour was bitter with biscuit malt and a decent finish. Good.

TET (2877) - Kaarina, FINLAND - JUL 26, 2008
Misty orange beer with medium white head. Aroma is pleasant: hoppy fruits and some malts and grass. Flavour is strongly bitter but not very pleasant way. Flavour is also musty and clearly worse than aroma. Quite light to drink with lot of carbonation. Disappointment after great appearance and aroma, but musty flavour and soda-like palate doesn’t save this beer.

500 ml bottle. Slightly cloudy golden color, creamy white head. Hoppy aroma. Crisp, bitter taste, sweet malty finish. Oily mouthfeel, medium-low carbonation. Pretty good.

austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - JUN 26, 2008
Golden, small lacing head. Malty nose, at first its grassy, later flowery hops, little fruitiness. Straightforward malty and grassy flavor. Clean bitter finish, little seedy grapefruit. Light to medium bodied. Still not an IPA, although this one has a bit more effort.
