3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the brewery. Clear amber with an off white head. Aroma is caramel, citrus, herbal and some fruity esters. Flavor is balanced between sweet caramel malt and a smooth hop bitterness. Medium body with a slightly sticky mouth feel. Good example of a English ipa.
"The only beer there I really really didnt care for. Lower ibus than the golden? Ok. Aroma was ALL malt. Not horrendous, but wtf? Where are the hops? Flavor is a little better as it has some back end bitterness but even as a tamer English iPa, this one is just weak. " maltman53 (472) - Corrales, New Mexico, USA - OCT 7, 2013
ol’ Republic Brewery strategy is to make classically-styled European lagers and British ales. The lager their ales as well. This IPA is an example of a version quite different than the West Coast style. It is less hopped up and offers more malty smoothness. Nice bitter, refreshing finish. Not a typical American IPA, but they do advertise it as an English-style IPA. Somewhat hoppy, but what really comes through is a malt flavor. Not what I was expecting. But it was decent. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - JUL 1, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Burnt amber pour. Cherry plumish aroma, smells malty. Drinks very smooth, balanced carbonation. Caramel body, wet with malt, bits of spice hop in the finish.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room , Sacramento. Pours clear amber with a huge white head and a toffee aroma. There is a slightly sweet caramel malt flavor with a smoothly bitter finish. Tastes like an English pub brew should. Oscbert (1319) - Lincoln, California, USA - JAN 29, 2013
~Fruity berry aroma, almost like wine, bready malts and floral earthy hops.
~Pours hazy amber reddish color with disappearing white head.
~Sweet berry and malty flavor with earthy spicy hop bitterness
~medium bodied, medium CO2, bitter earthy lingering finish.
~Very enjoyable IPA. I really liked the berry like fruitiness and earthy hops. JohnnyJ (5569) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Draft at the brewery. Clear golden amber pour, with a bubbly white head. Malt sweetness, hay like hops, earth, light citrus, and caramel. Not an american hop bomb IPA, but still a tasty English style IPA. Zymurgeist2 (2330) - Redwood City, California, USA - SEP 24, 2012
On draft at the brewhouse. Pours brushed gold and clear (like all of their beers) with a great which head. Aroma is of earthy hops. Flavor is malty grain with the same earth hop flavo(u)r. Very well-balanced and beautiful looking IPA. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - SEP 2, 2012
