Clear dark red brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet, brown sugar - syrup, smoke - wood charcoal smoke, light sweet raisin and plum. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft to flat.
(Bottle) Pours dark brown. The aroma is smoky up front with some sweet tar-ish and fruity undertones. Dark bread-like malt. The flavour is heavily sweet with tones of smoke, caramel and fruits. The mouthfeel is smooth, fat and sticky with a light carbonation. Medium to full bodied. I don’t like. joergen (28177) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2009

Didn’t realize it was 12% until I got the bottle, nice after the 10.1% I had just before, and the two 8% ones before that...
Clear dark copper color, small white head.Sweet, smoke, vinous, alcohol, some stable scent. Sweet, smoke (hat type), metallic taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Bottled at Sorbon, Bromma, Sweden. Pours out in a hazy ruby brown colour with a small bubbly tan-coloured foam. Rich rounded aroma of tar, smoke, licorice and toasted bread. Full-bodied with strong yet well-integrated and well-rounded notes of tar, salty licorice, smoke and juniper. Long aftertaste of salmiak, smoke, dark bread and juniper. The high ABV isn’t noticeable at all. Damn good and charming!

(Bottle, Man in the Moon, Stockholm) Dark ruby colour with brief, beige head. Malty, fruity, smoky nose with notes of dried apricots and burning spruce twigs. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, raisins, blood oranges and caramel. Smoky with hints of oak wood. Superbly balanced with alcohol (12%) very well hidden. Excellent beer! omhper (25160) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 26, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2009 Bottled at Man in the Moon, Stockholm. Very dark ruby, no head. Aroma of black currant and juniper smoke. Swet with rounded mouthfeel and more or less no carbonation. Evident flavour of juniper twigs, juniper smoke and juniper berries. Notes of honey. Remaining dangerously drinkable for a 12% beer. Quite lovely and mildly warming. The closest there is to commercial Gotlandsdricke. Amazed to see a beer from Öland without 1000 IBU...
