Bottle, Haket, 2010-05-28
AR: mackerel (fat and smokey), some tar and perhaps some liquorice
AP: sout black body, of white wee diminishing head
F: the flavors didn’t match the aomas and apperance, Finnish raspberry liquorice, grapfruit juice, ash - to much oddness for me (Johannes: - like licking an ash tray)
Bottle 33cl (Thanks a lot Omhper) A clear red brown colour with a medium high, good lacing, beige head. An aroma of roasted malt, caramel, liquorice, fruit, berry and light smoke. The taste is heavy sweet. A medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation and a long duration. LoFi (1714) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUL 17, 2011
Bottle. From notes.
I had such high hopes for this one, since I like both smoke and licorice in my porters/stouts. This bottle was infected, vinegar and sourness, the wrong kind of smokiness. I guess there are some nicer flavours in the background, but this wasn’t drinkable. screwball (1099) - Motala, SWEDEN - OCT 3, 2010
@ Bishops Arms, Vasagatan, Sthlm. Pours black withe a beige head. Aroma has smoke and is in a way floral and brings a nice tone of sweet liquorice. Sweet liquorice, smoke and a flowery tone play along well in the flavor. fonefan (48590) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 5, 2010

[ Trade by Papsoe ]. Clear dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate tot heavy berry sour, smoke notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate sweet berry acidic with a long duration, plastic - rubber sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Dark brown colour, with a tan rather small head.
Strange aroma and flavor, smoke, liquorice, bacon. Very sour, but not a sourness as in a pleseant Cantillon for example.
I could not drink the whole bottle, a strange beer. SaintMatty (7296) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - SEP 10, 2009
330ml Bottle (Thanks Svesse) - Dark brown in colour. Smoky and slightly roasted aroma with hints of liquorice. Slightly sour taste with liquorice and more sour and smoky hints in the finish. The sour element (intentional or not) is a bit odd at first, but you get used to it after a while. Nicely balanced and interesting. sebletitje (10048) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUN 27, 2009

One interesting and strange experience, a strong liquorice porter.
Pours dark brozn, beige head.
Aroma is smokey, light malts, light liquorice.
Taste was quite the opposite. A strong liquorice engulfs the palate followed by some smoke. Light in body, notes of dark malts and dark fruits, hard to exaplin, and hard to finish with a sour like finish.
Could not really notice the porter as it was all covered with too much liquorice.
Not horrible, but a one time try that was enough. Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAY 21, 2009
courtesy of Per - cloudy and very dark brown colour with a persistent but chaotic beige foam; nice lacing; roasted aroma of pear and licorice, some tartness and slightly acidic; moderate malt body which fails on the end of the tongue; fresh and moderately sweet; short and quite dry aftertaste of licorice - very unusual and quite confusing fiulijn (20372) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 10, 2009
Bottle at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö
Dark brown color. Strange aroma: smoke, cabbage, liquorice candies. Dry mouthfeel, weak, liquorice candies, some roasted malt and smoke. Disgusting!
