RATINGS: 10   MEAN: 2.37/5.0   WEIGHTED AVG: 2.51/5   SEASONAL: Special   EST. CALORIES: 210   ABV: 7%
It contains a light aroma of Jack Daniels, some vanilla flavors, and gets a good little bump in the ABV department because of the extended aging. It pulls extra sugars from the wood and undergoes secondary and even tertiary fermentation’s.

Dark brown to black pour with a tan head. The aroma is very heavy on the butterscotch and circus peanuts. The flavor also has some strong butterscotch and acetone notes, as well as a hint of roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle. Dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate and oak. Flavor of chocolate and something sour, with just a hint of whiskey. Aftertaste of molded bread. Medium bodies with high carbonation.

brystmar (1314) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 18, 2013
Dark brown body, tan head, sticky lace. Beautiful. Aroma defines offensive: acetone galore. Fuck me, this is terrible. A mess of a beer.

DiarmaidBHK (6137) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 12, 2013
Bottle from Alabama Beverage. Pours black with a thin khaki head that leaves some lacing. Smells and tastes like butterscotch. Nasty! Bottle could be infected or this could be a truly terrible beer. It could go either way.

BeerHawk (1811) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - JUL 4, 2013
Bottle. Poured black with a quick tan head. Sweet malt aroma with a background of barrel. The flavor found roasted malt, vanilla, and toffee. Medium body.

coolpop (1394) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Bomber. Poured black with a smallish tan head. Aroma and flavor were roasted malt, moderate whisky booziness, some vanilla and wood. The barrel aging is a bit more subtle here than in many similar beers. Nice sweet/bitter balance. Palate is on the thin side, slightly astringent. Haven’t had their regular porter; would be curious to try it now.

Itzjerm (3172) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Bad mouthfeel. A bit thin for a Porter. This may come from the fact i’m not a fan of OBB Porter, but this is a great improvement. Barrel flavor does come through. Slight oak. Whiskey is minimal but present. On the bitter side like many american porters. Nice aroma. Slight sweetness. Dryness hits on back of the tongue. Aroma is the best part of this beer. Head has good lasting retention. Good lacing and darkness.
