Iíve been drinking this beer since the brewery was still in Iowa City. I donít know why I hadnít rated it before now? I probably drink too much...Iím just kid diní.
Anyway, this beer is bursting with flavor. Nuts, chocolate, malt, milk, anise, coffee, bread, brownies, Doritos, brown, syrup, golf carts, Bobby Ann Mason she was way too cute she ws way too cool, orange guava nectar, beach towel, seven and yes that was a song lyric. Thatís how much flavor is in this beer!
But, itís got a crap finish. Sorry guys, you know I love you but...fix-it! Doppelganger (1388) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - JAN 2, 2009
Old Capital Brewery tap in Iowa City, Iowa. Warm brown, tan head. Dry roast and a subtle maple note. A bit more sweetness would be welcome here, but not bad. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 23, 2008
Draft at the Public House. Pours an extremely dark hue, a molasses color with reddish brown notes. a thick tan head that seems to be sticking around. Aromas are light, caramel malts mainly. Initial taste is a little sweet, some dark roasted malts, a touch of chocolate, and nothing really else for me. Very smooth and little bitterness detected at all. the brewís strength lies in its light smooth malt character. Not powerful in taste, but an enjoyable medium bodied brew. Dark brown, little off white head. Caramel malts lead the charge in the aroma, a bit of dark fruit as well. Flavor is similar, a bit laid back. Toffee, raisin, a bit of chocolate. A little thin. Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 11, 2007
Dark brown colored, little yellow head. Aroma is nice with licorice, yeast and mild spices. Medium bodied. Flavor is also sweet with rich licorice and caramel, roastiness and coffee come up in aftertaste.

Canned (thanks heemer77!). Dark amber colour, beige head. Aroma is malty caramel and some hops. Flavour is roasted malts, some hops along with bittering fruits. Not the most exciting brew, but indeed a nice and refreshing thing. TBone (17442) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 3, 2007

Dark brown color, not much head. A bit smoke and tar in the nose. Cold coffee and toasted malts in the flavor. Crisp carbonation. Refreshing, more porter than brown ale -like, light ale. Flavors fade away quickly.
Canned. Cloudy brown, rich creamy head. Dominated by light roasty malt. Light-medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel and some light earthy malt as well as red berries. Finishes with low bitterness. An easy going beer, being pleasant without sticking out. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 30, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2007 (Canned) Very dark brown with no head. Aroma of caramely malt, licorice, and some alcohol (I also picked up coconut, but later realized that was because of hand soap :P). Roasted-malty, slightly licoricey flavor. Light to medium-bodied, slicky palate. Ok, but not a winner. iowaherkeye (2703) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - MAR 30, 2007
Finally getting around to rating this. Pours a clear brownish red with a one finger beige head that fades to a film. Aroma of toasty an caramelly malts, some biscuity, and minimal misc. nuts. Flavor has a bit of citrus tang and toasty biscuity malts, light nuts again, and gets a bit grassy and tangy in the finish. Highly carbonated with a medium body.
