2016 catch up - Bottle at home - A very sweet beer that to me was almost cloying. It left a strange mouth feel and this is a beer I didn’t enjoy. mariuspoenari (2724) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 18, 2016
Shared at the December THT at deanso’s. Pitck black pour with a thin tan head. Notes of dried fruit, chocolate, roasted malts. Medium body, light carbonation. sjogro (4263) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 16, 2016
THT December at deanso’s, still. Black with light tan ring head. Dry roasted malts with sweetened milk. Light sweet and bitter. Thin body, low carbonation. Feels light and easy. Cimbasso (892) - - NOV 7, 2016
Bottle from EEBRIA. Pours black with no head. Virtually no carbonation. The bottle had a BB date of 08/2017 so well within its Best Before time. Milky coffee aroma. The taste is quite sweet and has some mild coffee, dried vine fruits and bonfire ash flavours. Rather watery and thin mouthfeel. Some bitterness at the end. I would like to try a bottle with carbonation and would hope to give it a better rating next time. Scottishchris (723) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 29, 2015
Bottle via eebria. Pours like a Coke. Fruit and light milky coffee nose. Medium body, lively carbs. Malts, coffee. Dry finish. Fine but not my thing.

Bottle. From Eebria ages ago. 9 months out of date. Clear, very dark red. Big, bubbly head, that settles into a lasting film of tan. Lots of fizz to this. Nose has ripe plum. Milk chocolate. Soft vine fruit. Some earthy, charred wood to it, too. Taste is dry. Very earthy. Loads of fizz. I must say I don’t like stouts with too much fizz. Finishes mostly dry. Ok. Should have drunk this a year ago, so I can’t be too unkind. gegwilson (3724) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2015
Bottle from the brewery. Pours deep mahogany, almost black with a good beige head. The aroma is pleasant with plenty of sweet coffee. The taste has light spice before pleasant coffee in the finish along with a touch of ash. A little thin perhaps, but otherwise a very decent stout. Bottle brought into Alounak. Pours deep brown with a monstrous, mountainous mocha head that fills the glass and just lingers. The nose holds some dusty cocoa, burnt leaves, earth. Light-medium sweet flavor with notes of sugary milk chocolate, ripe cherries, burnt grain, toast, minimal bitterness. Light bodied with lovely carbonation. Finishes sweet and a little sticky, with notes of simple chocolate, roast, slight mocha, vanilla ice cream, bread, dried semi-dark fruits. So so. planky84 (3298) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2015
Bottle from Eebria. Black pour, no head. Licorice, chocolate and treacle toffee aroma. Toffee, treacle and cinnamon flavour. Sweet action. Quite nice. MrTipple (5288) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 15, 2015
Aroma: milk acid, some toasted malts, dark chocolate. Appearance: black, medium, creamy, beige head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: turning light bitter, toasted malts and chocolate again, some sweetness remaining, light body, flat carbonation. Overall: average Sweet Stout, nice, but nothing too exciting. Bottle from the brewery via Eebria, Diss.
