Loved it, pours a very deep copper, has a slight earthy, spicy almost musty quality to it on the nose & all the way through the palate. When I first tasted it I wasn’t sure but after a few gulps I grew to love it. The flavours are full & almost rustic, the balance is great & the finish long. It has that lovely chewy quality that is normally reserved for much stronger beers. Fin (10699) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2009
Bottle that I picked up at Bacchanalia, Cambridge, 18-06-09 consumed later that evening Pours deep amber with a white rim of head. Quite soft in mouth, tatse is slightly rustic and earthy but good stuff. Some old fashioned flavours, good maltiness, touch of toffee but slight tangy edge. Nice beer. Bottle at toms ... Copper sweet little malt and some alcohol in nose ... mellow fruity malt ... odd inky tone ... fruit sweet but no real depth. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2007
Bottle thanks to ronnie, at home with cgarvie and ronnie. Aroma is rubbery, nutty and alcohol. Taste is similar, weird plasticy, slight petyrol, nonsence.
