Bottle at Cloisters. Brown, maroon colour with little-to-no head. The nose presents toffee, caramel and a decent whack of banana. Smooth palate, though not without a refreshing fizz. Bottle at Cloisters. Very dark murky red/brown, no head. Rich berries, fruitcake, honey nose. As it warms, slight port characteristics begin to show also. Bottle at Craig’s. Pours a dark ruby - brown colour with a thin light tan head. Aroma of raisins, alcohol, treacle and berries. Similiar juicy fruit flavour of berries, treacle, cherries and coffee. No bitterness. Just a porty malty cream with a light toffee note. Very tasty without being overpowering.
Bottled. A deep red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of caramel and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of oxidation and nuts, leading to a dry and slightly oxidized finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.
