Red Top is a traditional English Ale but with a more relaxed taste. It is brewed using our unique combination of Maris Otter, Crystal and Brown Malt, with Challenger, East Kent Golding and Cascade hops. The result in a rich tan coloured beer, that is balanced on the palate, with a hint of citrus aroma. It shows all the characteristics of best English bitter

BlackHaddock (6757) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2016
500ml bottle into a UK pint sleeve at home on 30th Oct 2016 (BBE Nov 2016, so one month in date) after taking the dog for a walk and picking up leaves of my lawns; God has chosen me again to have The Garden of Leaves: no idea where they come from but I have a foliage force or leaf magnet under the gardens because every year we get them. No one else on the street does, no one; I am beginning to think someone is actually dumping a wheelbarrow full of leaves at the dead of night from a local park or something! Anyway, back to the beer: Chestnut/mahogany in body colour, weak, wispy head. Malty lead in both the nose and taste, good balance though, the hops playing their part in this easy drinking Bitter. Would like to try this in cask form: hopefully will one day.

Cask at the Sloany Pony, brown bitter with an appealing hoppy nose, palate is malty with a touch of red fruit, but perhaps a little too vegetal in the finish.
